Politics Versus The Bible

Let me preface my remarks today with a simple formula. I can’t insert the “is not equal to” symbol you learned in the 5th grade… BUT…

  • Christian is not synonymous with Republican
  • Republican is not synonymous with Christian.

Now, YES… a VAST MAJORITY of American Born Again Christians flock to the Republican party. And politicians are quick to try to either A). support Israel while running for office or b). talk either about God, prayer, or maybe a lame quote from the Bible. note they’ll never quote something like John 3:3!

Most politicians stop the pretense as soon as they’re in office. Um… except the Donald. It seems he’s conducting Bible studies in the White House. right in the Oval Office. Guess what? I could be very wrong, but I think he won the election. And he’s carrying on far past the point where everyone else drops the pretense!

But here’s the flipside – there’s a political party who has seemed to make it a priority to legislate out of existence Christianity within America. And a lot of Christians STILL are part of that Party.

The Republican party pushed a member of a cult as a candidate for President, and suddenly Franklin Graham and countless others are rushing to embrace anyone who’s ever even driven PAST Salt Lake City as a fellow Christian.

No, let’s get our heads clear. We test everything by the word of God. Even political expediency. If your party routinely opposes God, Christianity, and the Bible, and exalts every manner of sin – as a Christian, you have only one response. Leave that party. Vote with your feet.

If your party attempts to push a member of a cult as President, then click on “other” at the ballot station and manually type in the name of another Candidate! The Republicans would have been astounded if they’d pushed a Mormon, only to find that a candidate who’d not gotten the nomination found himself President the following morning!

We as Christians need to send warnings to Washington DC – we matter. And we will not stand for any attempt to silence Christians, or to stand against the Bible. Here’s our answer to Pelosi Democrats and their agendas… we pull every Christian voter out of the Democratic party. Which almost happened last November.

If they lose enough elections, they’ll figure it out, and boot the Pelosi-ites out of office. That’s how we answer Washington. We vote. And at this point, you have to vote against things sometimes.

We also send a clear message to the Republican party, which I think they heard loud and clear – no moderate Republicans. No Liberal Republicans. High ye away to the democrats, if that’s ye platforme!

STAND for the Bible. Stand for God. Vote according to those factors, and sooner or later, the politicians get it.

And stop parroting political expediency. Ye are not your own, and ye were bought with a price. Not by politics, but by the Son of Man.

Because the Government needs a reminder

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I try to avoid politics on this blog. But every now and then… roughly every other hour lately – the United States Government says or does something – sometimes at the Federal Level, and sometimes at the state or local level – that is illegal.

When I was a boy, the President of the United States was accused of illegal wiretapping the Democratic Party Headquarters. He was forced to resign.

Illegal wiretapping. Yes, it’s a felony.

Passing laws that contravene the established laws of the United States is also considered a “felonious act”.

You cannot pass laws prohibiting the free exercise of religion. It’s in the Constitution.

You cannot force people of faith to act contrary to their beliefs. It’s a violation of the law. Passing that law is a criminal act.

You cannot pass a law, on the Federal, State or local level, that infringes upon the rights of freedom of speech.

You cannot pass laws that violate both at the same time. To do so is to completely show utter and total contempt for the Bill of Rights.

The US Constitution is being derided as “outdated”, and many liberals are screaming for its banishment. If the constitution is overthrown, then here’s all the rights you have that will disappear:

  • The right of protection against unreasonable search and seizures. Anyone from the Government  can go through your house, office or car without a warrant any old time they please.
  • The right of protection against the establishment of a state religion. The government would have the right to tell you that you are now a Satanist, and pass laws forcing you to sacrifice, and there’s nothing you could do about it.
  • The right of protection against slavery. Yes, you could be bought or sold as property.
  • The right of protection against censorship. You used to be able to say whatever you liked. That IS a constitutionally guaranteed right. The US Government made that illegal with the “Hate Speech Act” in 2009.
  • You’d lose the right to vote.
  • You’d lose the right to own weapons.
  • You’d lose the right to protest. All that protesting people are doing right now against the Constitution? The Constitution is what guarantees that right.

Every basic right and freedom you have stems from the US Constitution.

If you do nothing while the government slowly, systematically outlaws Christianity, then you will be powerless to stop it when they pass laws stripping YOUR freedoms.

The Persecution increases

There’s another article on the SermonAudio news features, about Christians now face being failed in colleges based solely on their beliefs. Or being expelled, based solely on their beliefs. Or not accepted into colleges, based on their beliefs.

This, for those of you who are not aware, is called persecution. When persecution is based upon your beliefs, it’s called religious persecution.

Christians in America, The UK, Canada and New Zealand are facing enforced censorship, lawsuits, damages, expulsion from colleges, and even possible jail terms for any Christian who dares to make their faith known.

Historically, has this stopped Christians?

No.

As a matter of fact, when Christians are repressed, more people are driven to it. In a time not too far off in the future, people worldwide will be given a choice between taking the number of the Beast… or dying. If it sounds like lunacy to say people will willingly line up to be executed rather than take that mark… it’s not. It’s exactly what’s going to happen. Those who get saved far too late in the Tribulation to hide will face that choice… and will choose death.

Now, the laws and constitutions of these countries all prohibit this kind of discrimination. It literally is illegal in these countries to pass laws discriminating against any religion.

That apparently is not stopping anyone. It’s as if madness has consumed the unSaved. I cannot explain it other than to say the world is gladly pursuing the thoughts of the devil. Satan may find himself in power before he’s ready to take advantage of it.

Or then again, he may alreaedy be in power. I’m sure the Antichrist is hurriedly writing his election speeches as fast as he can, and the world is outside the door shouting, “hurry up!”

The world has become so anti-Christian that it will gladly bow to a man who claims to be god, just to irritate Christians. They’ll gladly take a mark that they will be warned will damn them forever. And they’ll take it willingly, like all those people who post comments on the Zeitgeist video that they think is committing the unpardonable sin. They’re attempting to curse God, just because they’re excited to do something that they think upholds political correctness.

What is political correctness? Everything Satan likes. Anti-Christianity is the new “now”, The new “free thought”.

And if you think of yourself as a Christian and you’re emracing this nonsense, let me make a prediction.

You’re in for an uncomfortable realization about your salvation about 5 minutes after the Rapture, when you see that the Christians are gone, but you’re still here…

Painting yourself in a corner

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again… when your entire stated reason for questioning Christianity is based upon paintings that may or may not have been done by Christians, you’re on some really shaky ground.

Let me be even more plain…. when you state your reason for not believing in Christianity is based upon conclusions inferred from a painting… You’re establishing a pretext for not wanting to be saved.

Here’s the real reason you don’t want to be saved… you personally are convicted by the knowledge that you’re a sinner. You know there’s going to be a judgment, and you will be judged for your sins. And it means you reject God’s authority to judge you.

So, you choose a pretext conclusion to not believe in Christianity, and choose some religion that historically did not survive. You then choose your own rules for how to celebrate that religion, and your rules for conduct. Oh, and you choose some mock name to celebrate your own false version of that false religion. Did i leave something out?

The whole thing is false. And it’s a farce, as well.

Now there’s some guy out there claiming that some painting of a Borgia family member is the source of all paintings of Jesus, and thus, he never existed.

That’s so full holes I think I could strain spaghetti with it. So, if I can establish that a painting is copied from Bob Ross’s TV show, that Bob Ross never existed?

Okay, let’s trace the history of paintings of Jesus.  Historically, paintings of Jesus Christ all depicted for about 700 years, a blond, blue-eyed Jesus with short hair – someone who looked typically Anglo or French. This was done by Roman Catholic painters. Good so far?

Then, suddenly, around 700 AD to 850 AD, somewhere in that area, they suddenly began to depict a bearded, long haired Jesus with a forked beard, and his hair divided in the middle, owl-like eyes, and a number of artistic flaws that artists simply wouldn’t place in a painting.

The current research on this suggests that it comes from the Mandylion, (also called the image of Edessa)an image of the head of someone allegedly Jesus Christ. And many now are claiming that the Mandylion is actually the Shroud of Turin, folded to show only the face.

I don’t know who the image is of, I don’t know what the Shroud of Turin is. I’ve heard evidence both for it and against it. I’m just going to say…

Duh. The Borgia’s lived long after this time.

You can claim what you want… I mean, we still have freedom of speech for at least another week or two, I think, so, claim what you like. But you’re going to be VERY hard pressed to answer when someone like Josh McDowell meets you in debate, and starts bringing up the words of Romans who lived in the time of Jesus Christ, and whose writings mention him, like Suetonius.

the evidence for the existence of Jesus Christ is so well established, that historians (reputable ones, not the amateurs) don’t question it. To do so is to destroy your credibility. An afternoon of research can confirm it beyond a shadow of a doubt. The people who say, “I’ve searched for YEARS and still haven’t found any proof Jesus existed…” have never learned how to research (warning – it may require opening a book or two…) and again – have a pretext for not wanting to find the truth.

Well, here’s a new research tool. When all the Christians vanish off the face of the earth, that’s the Rapture. There should be a peace treaty at some point after that. Circle that date on your calendar, and add seven years. Look up in the sky exactly seven years after that moment. You’ll see Jesus Christ. And shortly after that, you’re going to meet Him.

And He’s going to ask you some very uncomfortable questions about what you taught, based upon Priorii arguments about speculative artistic pieces.
