The Pre-Trib Rapture 1

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:25-28 (KJV)

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (KJV)

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 (KJV)

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:4 (KJV)

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. The Soon Coming Rapture 2

Yay! Another Rapture article. These cheer me up.

Let’s say that I could list every Bible verse proving the Rapture is Pre-trib. Let’s say I can do expository Bible study on the ENTIRE BIBLE, proving the Pre-Trib rapture – and don’t convince a single person (which is what would happen, because people love ideologies, not truth).

What then?

I’m counting on all of you post-trib, mid-trib, no-trib and Pre-wrath believers to stock up food. Supplies. Ammo. Tools.

Why?

Because when, to your embarassment, you are raptured.. all those supplies will be left behind.

For people who within a few months… are going to desperately need them.

If you stock up for them now… lives will be saved. If you don’t… people will die.

Horrible to meet someone in heaven, and ask… “how did you die?”

“I starved to death. And there was no water.”

And you hang your head thinking, “I meant to stockpile for people left behind.” Well, don’t open your mouth and admit it, I guess!

And if you REALLY believe that despite the Bible, you believe you personally are going through the Tribulation… buddy, you’d better get busy and stockpile now. Because after the midpoint, you need the Number of the Beast to buy food.

So, how long is it going to take for you to buy everything you need? quite a while.

You may not have that much time to do it.

The Soon Coming Rapture

It takes roughly 45-90 minutes to write articles on how to do sermons, so those who’ve been interested in the series, my apologies – but I’ve been so busy that lately I’ve only been able to keep up because I can write seven articles quickly on a weekend.

To mention the Rapture in modern Christianity is like pulling a knife and darking people to fight you! I can think of few topics that engender such arguments and name caling as… this topic.

To those who do not agree… you have the absolute right to be wrong. I’ll tell you you’re wrong. I’ve described the issue of the Rapture as being the canary that coal miners in Wales used to detect deadly gas in the mines. If the birds collapsed, everyone knew to get out as fast as possible.

SAme here. When your eschatology (doctrines of the end times) begins to wander, it’s a sign EVERYTHING is beginning to wander. Am I saying the myriads of Independent, Fundamentalist Baptist preachers who have adopted an unScriptural Mid-Trib position are losing a pure doctrinal stance?

Why… yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying. You have not kept your doctrine without spot. You’ve listened to vain and foolish tales, and adopted the vain philosohpy of this world, instead of a reliance upon pure Scripture.

I’ve mentioned before the explanation of a man who had the right viewpoint of the Rapture. He was asked by his nephew if he was SURE the Rapture was before the Tribulation. His response was classic, and one that those who hold incorrect Eschatologies always miss…

“What is the point of the Tribulation?”

For many Christians, they’ll suddenly go quiet, and all you’ll hear is, “Uhhhh……”

The way I’ve described it is this. I’ve pointed to a church congregation (nicely split down the middle thanks to the aisle…) That… God spoke and dealt with this side over here, for 2,000 years. But that means THAT side isn’t being dealt with. Okay, God’s temporarily turning to THAT side. But the book of Revelation (not Revelations) shows that suddenly God’s focus is back on THIS group again, and THAT group suddenly seems to be missing.

Why is THAT group missing? Because God’s now returning to THIS group, who’s been somewhat rebellious. So, to reach them, He’s going to give the only thing they respond to…

…signs.

Okay, when you substitute the words “Gentiles” and “Jews” for THAT and THIS, it makes perfect sense. God dealt with the Jews for 2,000 years. Then the Lord came ,and the Jews are temporarily put away.

Note the word temporary.

“Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?” (Romans 11:12–15, KJV)

Read verse 15 and verse 12 again. How much more their fulness? What shall the receiving of them be?

God is not “Through with the Jew.”

“For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.” (Romans 11:25, KJV)

What does this mean? spiritually, it means… blindness is happening in part to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

If anyone wants to argue, here we go with Greek! πλήρωμα Pleroma means fulness, completeness. When the complete number of those Gentiles who will accept Christ is reached before the Tribulation, then the Lord will come. What’s that number? Clearly, we see from other passages of Scripture that the number is… I don’t know.

Does this argue in favor of Calvinism? No it argues in favor of Baptist doctrine (there’s no such thing as a Calvinist Baptist – it’s like saying a Carpenterish plumber) – God predestines according to foreknowledge. God knows in advance who will accept the Gospel and who will not.

Can you imagine being in the Millennium, and attending the Temple, and you’re talking about “I wonder who the last Gentile was to make the Fulness complete?” and at that moment the Lord is standing with you and He says… “Why… it was you.”

We should all feel that way. Well, I can’t, because I’m not a Gentile. But there. You Gentiles should all feel that way – you personally are the one the Lord was waiting eagerly for.

Where am I going with this? God turns His attention from the Jewish people to the Gentiles, then He will return His attention back to Israel during the Tribulation. So… where did the Gentiles go?

It’s a well attested fact – often completely ignored by Mid and Post Tribulationists – that the word church and churches is used 21 times in Revelation 1-3, and then not again until the very end of the book.

The rules of Hermaneuticsc demand we pay attention to that. It tells us something.

“Aha! But Holy omes and Saints can be found!”

Sure. That’s the Jews and all the Gentiles who get saved in the Tribulation. But the fact remains, the word church is missing for most of the book, until after the Lord returns.

There’s two open doors in Revelation – immediately after the final mention of the churches, and then not again until the Lord and His armies begin to travel back to the earth.

And then after that, it’s Israel, and Tribe… the 144,000 are from the tribes of Israel. They are those who “keep the commandments”.

“Matthew 24!”

You’re not understanding Matthew 24. Read it again. You’ll spot that the Lord gatheres His elect from the four corners of HEAVEN. They’re already in Heaven at that point.

The bottom line is this – if you believe in mid trib, post trib, pre-wrath, no-trib… you do not distinguish between the Gentile and the Jew. You confuse the words churches and Israel. Yet an honest reading of Romans differentiates between the two. If the Bible differentiates between Israel and the churches… so should we.

NOW, with that understanding, go read all of Revelation 7 times in a row. Won’t take long. Only 22 chapters. By the time you’re done, here’s your study questions…

Where are the churches?

Who is Israel?

Who is Revelation speaking of and to, mostly?

What is God’s method in the Tribulation?

Does it resemble the manner in which God dealt with Israel in the Old Testament? Or how God communicates with the churches in the New?

If you agree it resembles how God dealt with Israel in the Old Testament when they were Rebellious… what then does this lead you to conclude? Who is Revelation speaking to?

It’s speaking to my people. We’re a little stubborn. And trust me, it’s going to take the seas turning to blood to get most of Israel to admit that the Rabbi’s are wrong, and Jesus is the Messiah.

It’s going to take demonic attacks that leave people in agony for months.

It’s going to take hail that sets fires.

Start comparing Revelation to Exodus.

If you honestly study Revelation (for which there are blessings promised)… you will come to only one conclusion. It’s speaking of the Jewish people.

And the Gentile churches have… vanished.

Tim Laheye, passed at 90

Although I’m opposed to the leaven of Evangelicalism, and its anti-Fundamentalism stamp, I’ve read a lot by Tim LaHeye, and if he only could have gotten a sense of the doctrine of the Inspiration and Preservation of the Bible, I think (perhaps overly optimistically) he would have changed to a Fundamentalist overnight.

I’ve recommended his “How to Study The Bible For Yourself” book (with some reservations of course – I disagree with his recommending any Bible but the King James) on this blog. I hope people consider it, as it has given me a lot of resources to my Bible study. His “The Rapture” book is also recommended.

It was funny to me that he passed on yesterday at the age of 90, as I was just thinking last week he probably wouldn’t live much longer.

There’s a lot of controversy about was he a Freemason (I saw no evidence of it, but some people were able to make the connection) and about his support of certain people. The problem with that I blame on Evangelicalism and its “Don’t judge” philosophy, and the belief in a Universal church, which means the unity a local church is supposed to have now is superimposed on all people who call themselves Christian whether they are or not.

So, I know there are people that disagree with me. Certainly, I wish he could have been a fellow fundamentalist. But I think Tim Laheye was one of the greatest champions of our age in the truth of a pre-trib rapture. And he was a strong advocate of the average Christian trying to understand prophecy, and of studying the Bible for themselves.

I guess I’ll have to pick up the slack on that now!

Franklin Graham on the Rapture

Rev. Franklin Graham, head of the international Christian aid group Samaritan’s Purse and son of world-renowned preacher Billy Graham, said that given all the “bad news” about the killing of Christians by Muslims in some countries, and attacks on Christians by the media and the government even in America, he cannot “help but wonder if we are in the last hours before our Lord Jesus Christ returns.”

I think it’s not as soon as that…

but if you are convinced that we are weeks or months from the Rapture, this is the time to prepare. Not just for yourself, but for others. This would be the time to get yourself ready.

But this is also the time to throw caution to the wind, and start witnessing to people. I can think of no thought worse other than I condemned everyone I knew to suffer through 7 of the worst years the world has ever seen.

Share the Gospel. Give away tracts. Give away inexpensive KJV New Testaments to unsaved people.

Because if the Rapture was tomorrow afternoon, then the world will have seven years left.  Seven horrible years that will see somewhere between 66% and 75% of the world’s population die.

If you’re die in Christ, you go to be with the Lord forever. But if you die and you’re wrong, you’re dead wrong.

a lot of Christians are into prepping. Good! Every christian should prep. For yourself? Nope. You probably will never need it. But those supplies will help out those who get saved after the Rapture. Everyone help them out.

For more information, see my Surviving the Tribulation website, and also http://survivaltips1611.wordpress.com/

Help them out. You may be out of here, but they’re not.

The Pre-Trib Rapture 10 – Margaret McDonald

This is a commonly read blog post, and I’m guessing that it’s mostly Preterists looking for ammunition against Pre-Trib believers, judging from search terms they’re using. Sadly, this article pulls the fangs from their mouths!

just about every mid-trib, post trib or no-trib website always brings up Margaret McDonald.

Okay, let’s get that out of the way.

We’re constantly pointing out that there is nobody alive convinced of the rapture because of Margaret McDonald. Todd Strandberg did an article a few years back, about how he finally searched for this legendary girl who claims to have had a mystic vision in which, for the first time, someone saw a pre-trib rapture.

Huh.

Okay, research here is the key. Todd Strandberg reports it almost was a “Where’s Waldo?” search, except that in the “Where’s Waldo” puzzles, he’s always right there where you can see him. In this case, it’s clear NONE of these anti-Rapture advocates have EVER researched the claim. Or, extremely embarrassed, they’d have withdrawn the claim.

For starters, her “Vision” is post-trib.

“uhhhh… wait, I’d always heard she saw a pre-trib rapture.”

Nope.

So, you guys have made SO MUCH about her vision – and you NEVER EVEN READ IT! What amazes me is that Roman Catholic apologists always make snide remarks about a vision… but if she’d been a Roman Catholic, and the Virgin Mary had been central in it, there’d be pilgrimages, flowers, rosary beads, candles and incense offered at the place of MacDonald’s birth! Look, if your religion thrives on visions, attacking a straw man of visions is ill advised. Glass houses, stones, all that.

What’s the vision?

“I saw the people of God in an awfully dangerous situation. Now will the wicked one be revealed with all power…It will be a fiery trial…Nothing but what is of God will stand…I said, Now shall the awful sight of a false Christ be seen on this earth; and nothing but Christ in US can detect this awful attempt of the enemy to deceive…This is the trial through which those are to pass, who will be counted worthy to stand before the Son of Man…The trial of the Church is from Antichrist. It is by being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept. I frequently said, Oh be filled with the Spirit – have the light of God within you, that you may DETECT satan…”

Um… this is post trib. That’s consistent with the teachings of the Irvingites, whom MacDonald belonged to. So, her prophecy was play-acting, to make her seem important – she’d learned their doctrine well, and to have her seeing a mystic vision that confirmed the teachings of the group was seized on. Amazingly, it reminds me of Seventh Day Adventism and Ellen G. White’s odd visions, that changed with the wind.

How can I say it’s post trib??? Well, the Irvingites were post trib. And MacDonald mentions the Antichrist, released in the first Seal – which is during the tribulation. “The trial of the church is from Antichrist… this is the trial through which those are to pass…”

Um… if the churchES are to be tried by the antichrist, well then, that places the rapture AFTER the Antichrist is done – which is at Christ’s second coming!

So… maybe Pre-Trib believers should be turning that around to attack post-tribbers, claiming “You all got it from the visions of a Scottish girl!” See how they like having to defend it!

There. Aren’t you post-tribbers embarrassed??? You made ALL THIS NOISE about MacDonald, viciously attacking that straw man argument… only to find out SHE SUPPORTS YOU, NOT PRE-TRIB BELIEVERS!

Hah!

Next, we fail to see any quote from the person they say was the first advocate of the Pre-trib rapture, John Darby. Darby did advocate a pre-trib Rapture – but he tells how he was able to figure that out. It occurred to him as he studied the Bible that there was a difference between the churches and Israel. Once he’d understood that, it took little work to read through Revelation and see that suddenly the churches disappear from the earth, and God is working through Israel again. So, if there’s a difference between the churches and Israel, and Revelation starts out talking to the churches, then suddenly switches to Israel, and the churches cannot be found again until the end of Revelation – that means the BIBLE IS CLEARLY TEACHING THAT THE CHURCHES GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DURING ALMOST ALL OF REVELATION!

Sorry, don’t mean to shout, but the post-tribbers aren’t listening.

So, was Darby the first teacher of the Rapture?

Nope. A Southern Baptist preacher, who also agreed that MacDonald’s vision was post trib, first offered $500 for anyone who could offer proof of a pre trib rapture prior to 1830. He had to retract his offer when he found the writings of Emmanuel Lacunza. Lacunza taught it back in 1812. So the Baptist pastor, John Bray, offered the prize again, but this time before 1812.

He lost the money when someone gave him proofs of a book from 1744 published in England that taught a pre-trib rapture.

Well, what about this quote from before the year 370?

“For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overtake the world because of our sins.”

Ephraem of Nisibis wrote that, an early Christian writer of the Syrian Christians.

That’s.. a long time ago. It’s clearly pre-trib. Its clearly before the year 400. It’s an early Christian writer. And Juistin Martyr apparently was pre-trib as well, placing the teaching as far back as prior to AD 100.

Huh.

Looks like the church was ALWAYS pre-trib, and that abandoning this belief was moving from the previously held position – apostasy.

Looks like you post-tribbers have some explaining to do.

Understanding the purpose of the Rapture

Okay, we are firmly in the last days. Guarantee it. Not in the beginning of them.

Not in the middle.

At the end.

Next stop, the Rapture.

So… why?

It finally occurred to me why.

Much of what calls themselves Christian today, and what passes for Christianity today, is not Christian. I don’t know what you call it. But it bears no resemblance to what Christianity is to be according to the Bible.

So that means, huge numbers are caught up in this. Only a small minority of people who think of themselves as Christians are really Christians.

That means most people who consider themselves Christians have no clue. None. Clueless. If they’re saved – and I’m having a lot of doubts about people who refuse to pray, read their Bibles, tithe, and want to justify their behaviour and wordly beliefs, instead of conforming themselves to God’s word – they’re going to have zero for rewards except a showing up prize.

If they’re not saved – and I’m getting that impression of far too many – then the first clue they’ll get that something is wrong is that suddenly all those annoying pharisaic Fundamentalists will disappear – and strangely, they’ll be left behind.

“Huh! I thought the partial rapture was a heresy! I don’t get it!”

Well, you’re part right… it’s erroneous doctrine.

“Well, how come I got left behind? I’m saved, aren’t I???”

“…uh….aren’t I????”

That’s the purpose of the Rapture, I think. Not just to remove the faithful from the earth prior to the punishment…

…but a wakeup call.
