This isn’t what you think it’s about.
I am not a Ruckmanite. Not by a long shot.
Recently I was shocked to see headlines of “Peter S. Ruckman kills children then himself.”
the article basically was a smear job, intending to make it sound as if we recently found out Peter Ruckman’s death two years ago was a murder/suicide.
When you write a factual article and slant it to deliberately sound as if you’re talking about the famous person when you’re not – that’s the worst form of yellow journalism.
Peter S. Ruckman, Bible teacher, author, died two years ago. His son of the same name (for reasons we do not know) recently allegedly murdered his children and then apparently took his own life.
Commentators on SermonAudio made me ashamed to be a Christian.
I said this before, when Peter Ruckman died – the time of tragedy is not really the time to bring up someone’s doctrinal faults. Yes, Peter Ruckman taught things that were hateful and bizarre. Yes, he was bigoted, and full of hatred towards minorities. I don’t know if he was anti-Semitic or not.
All I know is that you don’t joke about suicide. You don’t joke about tragedy.
Leave the comments and your short Bit.ly links about Ruckman’s aberrant teachings out of it – he’s dead. it’s useless two years later to rehash all that while Ruckman’s family AGAIN is mourning. If you have to put up articles about his doctrinal issues, wait a week – don’t leave comments on the very article on the tragedy.
Someone filled their comment box with emoticons of someone laughing. You don’t think you might have to answer to Jesus Christ why you taunted someone that had just taken their own life?
I disagree with Peter S. Ruckman, the teacher. He’s dead, two years ago.
The teachings of Peter S. Ruckman have NOTHING TO DO with Peter S. Ruckman the son. Why bring them up? He’s dead!
I notice the same crowd who was canonizing Billy Graham recently wasted no time making fun of the Ruckman family tragedy.
To the Ruckman family – I am sorry. I cannot understand how terribly painful this must be for you. All I can offer is to pray for you all, that the Lord gives you comfort in this time of terrible tragedy.
