God the Son

Jesus Christ made it abundantly clear in the Gospels, that He is God. The Jews who were listening to Him several times attempted to stone him for His declaration He is God.

John Hagee tries to get around his Judeodolatry by trying to say Jesus Christ never claimed to be the Messiah. His friend Kenneth Copeland tried to claim that Jesus Christ never claimed to be God.

Both are completely wrong, and they’re trying to justify false and heretical beliefs by making these statements – which essentially are lies. Either the two of them don’t know the Scriptures, or they are lying. Or both.

I just can’t see how you can read John 4 and say Jesus Christ never claimed to be the Messiah. I don’t see how you can read John 8 and claim Jesus never said He was God.

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” (John 8:58, KJV)

“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.” (John 4:25–26, KJV)

So, here’s the way to understand Jesus Christ. He is God the Son, eternally the son.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, KJV)

In my Logos, I used the markup for Jesus Christ for every one of those terms. See the Everlasting Father? See the son? SAME person.God the Son, distinct from the Father yet of the same nature and essence…

That God’s eternal Son, who is, and continues true and eternal God,b took upon him the very nature of man, of the flesh and blood of the virgin Mary, by the operation of the Holy Ghost;d that he might also be the true seed of David, like unto his brethren in all things,f sin excepted.

Historic Creeds and Confessions, electronic ed. (Oak Harbor: Lexham Press, 1997).

I don’t ascribe to the various confessions and catechisms such as Dort, Heidelberg, etc… (because i’m a Baptist and most of them stuck Calvinism in there somewhere), but the Heidelberg Catechism had a good explanation there.

Some Evangelicals have a defective view of Jesus Christ. They assume that since He is love embodied, He will never raise His voice, or condemn anyone.

Those are the same ones who don’t read their Bible. The judgment is given unto the Son. Jesus Christ will literally, before your very eyes, condemn billions to eternal suffering in Hell. Why? He’s GOD. He is pure Holiness. A thrice Holy God cannot be in the presence of sin, and the concept of sin demands punishment from God. And although God has not yet uttered the final decree, although He tarries for reasons we cannot understand… it will happen eventually, utterly, finally.

When you think on this for a little while… then reflect on this final, ultimate thought. The judge of the universe came to Earth and …died in your place.

Why? He loves us, and wants us to be free, and with Him for all Eternity.

I’m looking forward to the day when I can sit in His presence and ask Him to explain some parts of the Bible to me.

Apostasy reigns around us, churches are sliding into worldiness, a whitewashed Gospel is preached everywhere... "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV) So, I'm speaking out. ...Why aren't you???
