Stop living for yourself, and live for the Lord! Will you surrender all? I mean, it’s one of the most popular “specials” to be sung at a church, but the way we mean it, we should be singing, “I surrender some…”
This may be very close to the Rapture. If not, I’ve set up powerful, persuasive arguments for you to start living for God. You know, all those things about pursue Holiness???
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:” (1 Peter 1:13–17, KJV)
No, this is not under the law! If you’re already saved, it’s not earning your salvation, or works salvation! (I can’t believe I even have to make these disclaimers anymore!!!).
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews 12:14, KJV)
“To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:” (1 Thessalonians 3:13–4:3, KJV)
Everyone reading this – please consider this. live for Jesus Christ. He died for you, that you might live for Him. He rose again, and set us on high with Him. We are all altogether wretched, yet He died for us, that we might live forever.
