We’ve looked already at some of the arguments about the law. I’ve brought up two of the major reasons why Christians are not to keep the law, the argument of marriage and death.
Simply put, as Paul carefully explains in Romans 8-12, we WERE under the law while alive. But if you are truly born again, you have DIED, and are ressurected.
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 (KJV)

Next, we look at the adoptionism argument. The laws of the sabbath are binding upon the sojourner, the stranger, the servant, those in the kingdom. but the law is not binding upon the child of the king.

Am I saying that the children of the king are exempt from the laws enacted by the king? I don’t say that – the Bible says that.
And if the Bible says that, that means God says that.

We are the children of faith, not of law. The Bible makes that distinction. God makes that distinction. So obviously, now that we are children of God by adoption (often rebellious children, but children nonetheless), the laws are made for those outside the palace.
The next argument we examine is the law of citizenship. The laws of Finland are not binding on me. Why? I do not live there. I am a subject of the United States. If I lived in Finland as an Ambassador, engaged in the official government business of the United States, I would be immune to the laws of Finland.

Next, we move to another argument.
The children of faith versus the children of bondage brings up the Hebrews “faith” argument. Are we saved by faith through grace, or are we saved by works of the law? THe bible makes it clear we are saved by grace through faith, in so many verses it’s unbelievable.

Remember, if you have a problem with this doctrine, you’re arguing not with me but with God. I don’t know about you, but hey… I don’t want to argue with God. He’s my saviour.
As I’ve pointed out, Messianics tend to get wishy washy on the subject of salvation. They claim often that salvation comes first, then we should want to do Torah obsesrvance.
But then they gummy things up, by making snide comments about people not being saved if they don’t keep the law. Okay, that’s really simple. You really believe in Salvation by works, not by faith – you’re just trying to avoid being called a heretic. Well, you’re a heretic. Done.
We’re going to look at this side of it again, because this is a dodgy trick most of the Hebrew Roots cultists use. Repeatedly.
