Mormonism Answered 12

It’s always amusing to me that when you look forward through history, the false perspectives of cults like Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses can claim the authority to abrogate the word of God, and to claim the word was lost for centuries suddenly look as foolish as they really are.

Both cults claim that the true word of God was lost, and it was up to them to restore it.

Let’s see…. God’s word tells us the word of God shall not depart from the mouths of His servants, that His word is pure and preserved, and inspired.

Man says that Gods word has been corrupted and lost.

So, someone’s wrong or lying. If you sincerely believe the word of God to have departed from the churches for 1500 years or so, you’re claiming God is mistaken or lying, which I personally would not care to do.

Don’t shout amen, Evangelical Christian! If you believe the textual criticism theories of modern “Scholars”, you’re saying essentially the same thing! Think on that for a good long while, and possibly consider going back and studying my writings on Textual Cricisicm under the topic of “king James Only”.

But the Mormon claim is absolutely ridiculous. Who wrote Doctrines and Covenants? Wasn’t it Brigham Young? How can it possibly be the word of God, lost and removed from the Bible when the words spoken and written were done by conversations and teachings by Joseph Smith to a hoodwinked and misled Brigham Young, who believed the con artist Smith?

Who wrote Pearl of Great Price? When was it written?

And do Mormons TRULY believe that everything in the Book Of Mormon was removed from the Bible as Joseph Smith said??? No, I haven’t seen that assertion from Mormons. So – how do they justify it?

Well, they just believe the First Appearance story, the Angel Moroni story (and I found it extremely interesting that in the exchanges, my Mormon reader chose to ignore the Biblical fact that men may not become Angels, which I pointed out very early in the series, as they wanted to discuss the “reformed” Egyptian and Hebrew issues at length), and of course, the translating of the plates story. And nary a word about the fact that apparently few Mormons have caught onto the fact that Smith had the plates inside a hat, the seer stone placed over it, and his face blocking out the light.

How much can you read in the dark?

Is there anything anywhere in the Bible about one placing Holy Books in a hat and blocking out the light, to read them in the dark? No.

Didn’t Jesus command us to do everything openly? Why then would Joseph Smith be commanded to do this differently? Again, it smacks of a con artist hoodwinking his gullible followers.

Again, I urge mormons who are led of the Holy Spirit to this blog to READ THE BIBLE. Go BUY a King James Bible, and not one with Mormon footnotes and citations! Better yet, you can download free of charge Bible software with the King James Bible in it. Wordsearch Basic is free, and comes with the King James Bible. Read it, make copious notes, study it. You will not find ANYTHING that confirms Mormonism. Nothing.

Rather, you will find that it completely contradicts Mormonism, which should raise a great deal of questions for you.

“Well, I had the burning in my bosom that proves Mormonism to me…”

So let me get this straight – you sought after signs in this age of Faith, and a little heartburn convinced you to turn your back on the Bible and the Gospel? Tums would have cleared that issue up!

There is NOTHING in the Bible about praying for a burning in the bosom. Absolutely nothing. Again, if Mormonism challenges Christianity and the Bible – and you don’t have to look far in the Book of Mormon to read the challenges – Mormonism must prove itself from the Bible! Smith really goofed up – if he was going to start a heretical new religion, why not simply ditch the Bible and Jesus Christ? As far as Biblical Literacy, Smith was so unlearned in the Bible he apparently had no idea that the Bible so easily refutes Mormonism!

It’s very sad, actually, as I have to reflect on the great numbers of people who have slipped from this life, clinging to Mormonism, hoping desperately to greet Joseph Smith and be told they are now gods… only to meet Joseph Smith, and hear his and their screams of agony and anguish as they writhe in flames – and the unending horror that this is FOREVER.

I know that millions of people are Mormons, and I do not have the figures on how many Mormons have died without repenting and returning to Jesus Christ first. I just know the thought is agonizing to me. PLEASE do not add to their numbers! To have this happen to one Mormon is bad. To have it happen to millions is horrific. And I’m sure that like the rich man and Lazarus, Smith would return to the earth to tell his followers to accept Jesus Christ if he could.

In this day and age – just like in ages past – we are not saved by universalism nor by works – but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The great Patriarchs of Judaism showwed their faith in Christ by acknowledging Him in their words and deeds, and sometimes by an outward show of worship or faith to a theophany, pre-incarnate appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In this day, fleeces are not answerd. The Lord does not reward with signs and wonders to prove Christianity. I kept praying for a sign to let me know Christianity was true. I got no sign, but accepted it by faith and repentance. And the Lord saved me because of the faith.

You must do the same. DROP all the LDS materials. Read ONLY the Bible and it will show you. The tools are out there, and free.

And remember, you will have no excuse at the Great White Throne judgment for rejecting the Christ of the Bible and instead accepting the brother of Satan that Mormonism offers you.

Apostasy reigns around us, churches are sliding into worldiness, a whitewashed Gospel is preached everywhere...
