Spring Cleaning

33 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: 34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. 37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: 38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 39 As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. Ezekiel 20:33-39 (KJV)

Sorry if I’m starting to sound like Jeremiah here, but I’m dumbfounded at how quickly the SBC is running into apostasy. It’s isolated right now, but if it begins spreading rank and file throughout the convention, I’ll have to withdraw.

We’ve got Calvinist pastors and deacons in the SBC. Here’s how it’s working: Someone gets out of seminary, goes on the preaching circuit and starts looking for a church. The church invites him to speak,l ikes him, talks to him. He conceals his Calvinist belief, and gets hired. Within a few months, he begins subtly sneaking in the word “Soveriegn” when talking about God, to pre-condition the church to approve of that word. After getting them indoctrinated into approving of the word “Soveriegn”, he then begins tying it to “grace”. About 12 months or so after that, the church finds itself being torn apart over Calvinism.

And nobody is questioning integrity. Nobody is saying, “There is a deliberate attempt to take over and subvert Biblical Baptist churches to Calvinism!” Nobody is commenting over wolves in the pulpits wering wool suits. A few Biblcally aware voices are shouting, but nobody’s listening. Indeed, the SBC last year passed a resolution saying we need to get alnog with unsaved men who are preaching another gospel, and telling people they must be saved before they can be born again. “Huh?”

The Emergents were running amuck in the convention, and nothing was being done about it. Then Rob Bell decided to quit his church and get a job working on TV. Now the emergents are still out there, but adrift. We should be witnessing to them.

Worldly men are teling us we must be “purpose driven” instead of biblically driven, and godly Pastors who should be analyzing the Purpose Driven materials against the Bible and asking hard questions are not – because by adding those principles to their church they’re having membership booms. And now, at the Great White Throne Judgment, pastors will not be recognizing the 3-5% of their congregation they feared were lost… but 50-70% of their congregations. Why? We stopped addressing sin, but rather started addressing self esteem.

And we filled our churches with tares, goats, unsaved people. Because we stopped preaching about sin.

It’s time for the SBC to clean house. Submit your personal statement of faith, written in clear, plain language. If you believe in anything other than what the Bible teaches, you should be elsewhere.

If you believe anything other than John 3:3, you need to be elsewhere.

If you do not accept John 14:6, you need to be elsewhere.

If you think that the Roman Catholic church teaches the Gospel and the plan of salvation, we need to talk about what you think the plan of salvation IS!

What is WRONG with us? Why have we tolerated this nonsense???

Basic Concepts

One thing I’ve learned over the last… has it been a full year yet, I wonder?

I’ve learned it’s absolutely amazing how few people know their Bible.

You know, it’s a simple concept. The Bible explains God’s will. You want to know God’s will? read the Bible.

Some people talk about “I want to know God’s will for my life!!!”

Well, let me give you a basic clue – if you’re asking that question, it means God’s probably calling you into a ministry.

I probably just got a lot of people’s attention. Let me explain. There are a lot of people sitting in the average Baptist church, not even WORRIED about God’s plan for their life. They got saved, they’re grateful, God is good, Hallelujah!

What;s wrong with them? How can they be that complacent??? Well, the answers simple – nothing’s wrong with them. They’re not complacent. They have no call on their life. They may get motivated to “I want to help the church in some way!!!” Good call!

But if the first thoughts in your head after you get saved is, “What does God want for my life???” and it won’t go away, and you feel like you’re going to DIE if someone doesn’t just tell you what it is… Then the very sensation your feeling is the answer.

It’s the call of God.

Let me quote a Scripture that will explain what you’re feeling.

16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:16 (KJV)

Yup. It’s how I feel. “Woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel!!!”

Necessity is laid upon me – woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel.  I do it because I HAVE to. It’s something I’m driven to do!

If you have that feeling… welcome to the Ministry. If you can do anything else, do that. But if necessity is laid upon you, and woe is you if you preach not the Gospel… welcome to the ministry.

If you think that pastoring is easy work, and wow, it’d be nice to  do that for a living! Beats painting houses, man! Ya wear a suit and read from a Bible, yessir, that’s for me! If those are your thoughts, my advice is – become a stockbroker or something. It’s easy to find high paying jobs, look them up, figure out what training you need, and got get it and do it!

But if you find yourself in your spare time writing up plans for your congregation when it happens… welcome to the ministry.

Pastors pastor because they’re a pastor, and God placed that desire within them. We’ve got a lot of compromising pastors, men pleasing pastors, and man-centered and liberal pastors. We need Godly pastors, men who are committed to the cause of Christ, to calling men to need, read and heed the Bible! And that pastor needs to read, heed and feed the Bible.

Was I just talking about you?

Has the SBC Lost Their Minds???

In one week was the tersely worded news report that two “pastors” at an SBC conference enjoining other pastors to “stop spreading rumors” and “embrace other definitions.”

And then Rick Warren yesterday openly advocated not only “cooperation with Rome” but “returning to Rome”.

Have we lost our minds???

The SBC of 90 years ago would have promptly cast out all three “Pastors”.

two years before I was born, A Roman Catholic ran for President, and the SBC was worried enough that the presidential candidate felt he had to make a public statement about it.

I asked last month, and I ask again… “Why should I cooperate with the unSaved for the sake of the Gospel?”

I know Billy Graham is the beloved of the SBC. But facts are that many people who come forward at his crusades are denied salvation. Mr. Graham is going to have to explain himself to an Almghty God who is going to want to know, “Why, when I awoke the conscience of so many Catholiccs and Jews, did you turn them over to unSaved men who did not explain eternal life to them???”

That’s going to be a very upsetting day for Billy Graham. How many thousands of people will burn forever in an eternal Hell, the very place Mr. Graham whitewashes and tries his best to wish out of existence? Sadly, it’s real. Unsaved people go there.

Hey, you know what??? All those Catholics you sent to Catholics… were told they had to earn their salvation. They were told that “Jesus Christ purchased our redemption and gave it over to the Roman Catholic Church, who dispenses it in the form of Sacraments. We must earn our salvation through works, and any sins that have not been purged in this lifetime will require a period in Purgatory, where they will be purged in flames…. however, a Mass said in the name of the Blessed Virgin will reduce the time spent in there…”

That’s not the Gospel. I don’t know how Graham could possibly believe that to be the Gospel. But he even says that’s what he believes. Graham believes in Baptismal Regeneration as well. If this were a court of law and Graham was being tried for being a Christian, I think he very well might be acquitted.

So, Mr. Rick Warren, I’d like you to defend yourself. Explain what you mean. Explain why we should return to a system that preaches an unBiblical message that CANNOT save, and is under a curse as explained in Galatians 1:8?

The SBC fifty years ago would have given him the left foor of fellowship. And rightly so. We should be demanding an explaination, an examination of his statement of faith, and very possibly look into whether or not we need to start witnessing to Mr. Warren???

Why did two SBC Pastors tell us to “Embrace other definitions”? The bottom line is this: Baptist is Bible, Bible is Baptist. If it’s not Bible, it does not belong in an SBC pulpit. It should not be preached from an SBC pulpit, even at a Pastor’s conference!

I am required by God to preach what the Bible says. God demands it of me. And although most Christians don’t have to go through a detailed explaination of their lives at the believer’s judgment, Pastor’s will. We alone will have to explain why we did or did not do something, or why we taught something. Our rewards are great… but the standards by which we are judged are much greater. It’s probably a lot harder for a Pastor to earn rewards in heaven than the average Christian.

So, I am required to preach the Bible. The Bible takes a very dim view of some things. My response at that conference, if I were to get up and preach after hearing that, would have been to read aloud Romans 1-3, and explain the sinful condition of unrepentant mankind. That would have been my entire message. And it’s a shame I’d have to be doing this to other Pastors.

It’s not about what I think, or my desire to please men. I saw a blog where a good Christian had posted something very liberating when you think about it… “As long as you worry about the opinions of other men, you remain their prisoner.”

The SBC needs to turn from this man-pleasing, worldly approval seeking, bow down to the Pope-ishness foolish behaviour. Because I’m telling you, if we continue to flaunt our rebelliousness before an Almighty, Thrice Holy God, our house will be left desolate. Do you think the World will mourn our destruction? No, they’re going to laugh, and scorn, and wag their beards. “Ah, the SBC!!! Foolish men, why did they deny their God?”

Will we have an answer?

Lifestyle Evangelism

         Lifestyle Evangelism.

I don’t get it. Someone explain this to me.

If I live a holy life, a happy life, people will sooner or later ask me, “Hey buddy, you’re always smiling, so happy… what’s your secret?”

In reality, people look at you and think…”you’re a lunatic, and you need help.”

There’s only one way to reach sinners.

Tell them about Jesus.

Tell them about sin.

Tell them about Hell.

And tell them Jesus is the only way to escape Hell.

That’s pretty easy, isn’t it?

Let’s try that sometime, instead of wandering around with a goofy grin on your face!

The Bible: Why Joseph Smith hated the Word of God | Life After Ministry

The Bible: Why Joseph Smith hated the Word of God | Life After Ministry.

Another article that is a must read for any Mormon.

Mormonism Answered 19

Where do we go from here? Mormonism has the burden of proof, challenging Christianity which has an established Bible, an established Jesus Christ, and an established church order.

To date, Mormonism has not proved its case.

We keep asking, “What proofs do you have?” And the answers are inconsistent and “Change the subject-ish.”

So here… let’s not change the subject.

You not only cannot prove Mormonism’s doctrines just from the Bible, you can easily disprove it! I’ve answered MANY points.

Would Jews from the year 600 BC switch their language from Hebrew to Egyptian? Despite arguing in circles, the answer has to be “No”. I’m going to say very strongly, that if there were NO peoples around but Jews (as the Book of Mormon maintains), then Jews would have dropped Egyptian VERY quickly. The only way (I feel like I need to write this a dozen times in a row for this to sink in) that Jews would have lost Hebrew would be for a VERY SMALL community of Jews to have moved to a land where there was a large population speaking another language.

That’s it. If they all moved to America and there WERE no native American tribes…. then we’d have millions of native americans wearing tallis, tefillin in morning prayers, and spoke Hebrew.

That’s a bottom line. There’s no more discussing it.

Why fight so hard over it?

Because it utterly destroys the Golden Plate story.

There can’t have been an angel Moroni. He’d have been a ghost, a resurrected dead man, or a (by Mormon theology) god.

So, let’s tackle the god thing, once and for all.

Okay, how’s it work? You know, the god thing.

How does a human being, who has an origin and starting point, become a god, a supreme being who is without origin and starting point?

I’ve got an impossibility here. Let’s say I converted to Mormonism, got a Temple Recommend, re-married in the Mormon Temple, yadda-yadda, and die. My birthdate was in 1964. So, how can I, who appeared on this earth in 1964, have no origin? How can I, a finite being (watch me stretch out my arms…. argh!) become infinite?

I’m sitting on my couch right now, typing away. how do I become Omnipresent? The Bible says God is Omnipresent. How do I accomplish this when I’m under six feet tall and 160 something pounds? (none of your business exactly how many!!!)

My iq is in the middle of the 170’s. That’s barely stupid level for a God. Matter of fact, that’s short bus category for a god. How do I become Omniscient, all knowing?

I can bench press… noneya. (hah!). So, how do I become all powerful, Omnipotent?

The Bible says God is all these things.

The LDS “church” says God has an origin, parents, and was once a man. That’s a blasphemy. And the LDS “church” is utterly wrong. Because the Bible says something different.

And that’s the point. In every major doctrine of the LDS, the Mormons say one thing, the Bible says something different. Wow, it’s absolutely amazing how consistent it is that the LDS church says one thing and the Bible another!

so finally, I have to ask this question…

Really? You guys fell for that nonsense? “I can become a god!!!” You REALLY believe that?

Or are you laying there at night, before you fall asleep, having a surge of panic thinking, “I hope I’m not wrong. I hope I’m not risking my eternal soul for this!!!”

You are. You have denied the Trinity by reducing it to a “Well, there’s millions of gods!” How is that NOT Paganism???

You have denied the Lord Jesus Christ by worshiping a false Jesus, not the Jesus of the Bible. You have added to the word of God by adding three books to it. “Uh, it just happens that Joseph Smith bought a manuscript that had been wrapped in a mummy and it just so happens to be the GREATEST archaeological find of all time!”

That’s like the guys that try to tell a judge, “yes, my license is suspended! But I took a chance a drove that ONE TIME and the police pulled me over that ONE TIME!!!”

I’d have given Smith credit for trying if he’d first bought a dozen manuscripts, found them to be prayers for eternal life or last will and testaments, plus a new fudge recipe, and THEN tried the Doctrines and Covenants story!

But to buy ONE manuscript and have that be the ONE???

Really? you believe that?

I’m reasoning with you, pleading with you, begging you… repent now. Reject Mormonism and reject Joseph Smith now, before it’s too late. Accept the real Jesus Christ, the Jesus of the Bible.

Because if you die without Him, there’s no nope for you.

This may be the last warning you get.
