Let me deviate from my customary, point by point method of reminding you what topics we’ve covered. Because let me tell you, I know you all just skip over it every time to get to the meat of the articles.
I told you how to read the Bible, and have been pointing out lots of stuff about how to do it. There’s no little code you have to unlock. There, I just saved you money from buying Bruce Metzger’s book. I would seriously doubt he could teach us anything about”unlocking” the code of the Bible, as he believes large portions of the first 5 books of the Bible are myth, anyway.
We know there’s a Rapture. The Bible tells us that over and over again. We know that the churches are mentioned over and over again in Revelation 1-3… and then the Bible stops tlaking about the churches all of a sudden, until the very end of Revelation.
uh… where did the churches go??? Revelation begins talking about Israel, and suddenly reverts to Old Testament wording for the Saved. That tells us that… the Bible is talking to Israel.
Notice the simplicity of the Bible. It speaks so that the simplest member of the congregation can get it! Why, there’s hope yet that that Philip Dean guy may actually understand the Bible yet!!!
Here’s how I’ve described it in the past. You don’t get the full effect, because you don’t get to see me pacing around up on the platform at the church. But basically, it’s this way. (Looking off to one side) the Bible is like God is talking to these people over HERE. The People over THERE aren’t really hearing it right now, because they don’t want it and aren’t ready for it.
Now Jesus Christ comes, and leaves. Now I’m going to go talk to the people over THERE. The people over HERE, a few people on the edge of the aisle still can hear me, and they follow along. But right now, the people over THERE are getting the attenion. Why? Because I’m fair. God is just, and fair.
Now, I’m going to take everyone who is willing out of this place, whether they’re sitting HERE or THERE. What now? I’m going to come back to talking to the people over HERE, because they didn’t want to listen to me for a while. But this place is going away soon, and if I don’t reach all the people HERE and THERE, they’re going to miss out.
If it seems like that is a very basic way of summing up the Bible, you understand it correctly. It IS very basic. Why is it so basic? Because people read the basic stuff and still get it wrong!!! Let me give an example.
8 The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him. Isaiah 56:8 (KJV)
Who is this talking TO??? Look, the verse TELLS you who its talking to!!! Israel! Who is “him”? Uh… could it be Jesus Christ? Ding ding ding ding! You got it!!!
Who are the “others” that will be gathered unto him? Well, let’s see… there’s only two kinds of people in the world, Jews and Gentiles. So, if it’s talking to the JEWS, it must be the… gentiles! You got it!
It’s that easy!!!
Yet there are people who decide, “Well, the Jews rejected Christ, so Christ rejected the Jews. God is through with the Jew, so the Church replaces Israel.”
There’s so much wrong with that doctrine, I barely know where to begin. Yes, the Jewish people rejected Christ. And in the very moment they rejected Him, he said…
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Matthew 23:38-39 (KJV)
notice the magic words… till ye say… Can God be through with the Jew, then? Does the churchES then inherit all the blessings due Israel? Nope. The text clearly shows God is not “through with the Jew”.
It’s that simple.
So if Revelation is speaking a lot to the churches, then suddenly the churches dissapear, there’s a reason. It’s because the churches… dissapeared. Vanished. Caught up. Raptured.
So why is God speaking to the Jewish people? Because He started talking to the people over THERE. And He took out anyone who would listen and accept. now, He’s going to talk to all who will listen. Jew first, then the Greek. That’s what the Bible says. So, we’re back to dealing with the people whom God originally dealt with, but this time it’s THROUGH them unto the Gentiles. Everyone’s included.
If you got that… you understood what’s going on.
So… why do people continue to believe the churches go through the tribulation? They haven’t grasped the simplest of concepts yet… there’s a difference between the churches… and Israel.
It’s that simple.
