The End Times 10

1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. 12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. Revelation 9:1-12 (KJV)

And lo! Confusion ran rampant.

Here’s the source of the cunfusion – people not believing the Bible, or not accepting the word of God as the literal word of God.

Are these helicopters? I hear that one all the time – the “primitive man” theory. “Ya see, John the Apostle had never seen helicopters, so he couldn’t understand what he was a’seein… so…”

Well, I categorically reject that interpretation. The Bible says they are locusts, but very odd ones at that. They sting like scorpions (locusts don’t have stingers…), they don’t eat all the plants they encounter, they only attack men not bearing the mark of the believer. They’re shaped like horses, have men’s faces and long hair, and crowns.

Have you ever seen a locust like that? I never have.

Have you ever seen a helicopter with long hair? A man’s face? a Crown? And the helicopters only target men not sealed by God, attack with the sting of a scorpion, cause intense pain to men who cannot kill themselves somehow… and have a king…

Nope. Not helicopters. Sounds silly when put that way, doesn’t it? And before you start talking about US helicopters, the attack helicopters look like dragonflies, not locusts. There’s a difference.

Ok, how about a tank? Tanks sometimes have netting on their sides… Nope. You’ve been watching Rat Patrol again. Modern tanks don’t string any kind of netting on the sides. They have reactive armor, which means if you shoot at them, the armor explodes in the direction of the attack, diffusing the attack of the enemy. And tanks that don’t destroy any vegetation when they shoot… yeah. That’s not happening even in the desert. Tanks just tend to create destruction. Tanks don’t have long hair or men’s faces. Tanks don’t sting or have kings.

Maybe we should try believing the Bible! If it says some kind of bizarre monster locust, maybe we could assume they’re bizarre monster locusts! And we can safely derive from the text that if the king is called the Destroyer and is the angel of the bottomless pit…. um… they’re devils. These are not natural animals, mindlessly attacking. Nor are they prehistoric monsters awakened in the Japanese Islands by atomic testing! “We must stop the locusts before they reach Tokyo!!!”

They’re devils. Demons, to you modern Bible translation readers.

It’s not a naturally occurring plague. Tell me plainly how something can stop the power of death temporarily! “I got stung by a jellyfish, and now I can’t die!” nope. not happening. It’s little annoying little devils. Annoying for Christians, not so much for the unSaved. This is going to be terrifying. Little flying monsters coming at you, stinging you, and suffering painfully. No painkiller can stop the pain. And you are so desperate for the agony to stop, you try to kill yourself. And nothing happens. You live with those wounds or poison or whatever.

People do resume dying after this judgment, so probably those that try jumping from buildings or shooting themselves all will die at the end of several months. But during the duration of the agony of the sting, it will not be possible for them to die.

Can anyone remember the last time this ever happened? “It’s never happened.” So… then Preterism is a heresy, isn’t it? If we read the Bible and believe it, we understand this has never happened before, was not fulfilled in 70 AD, and has yet to happen. Then why are there Preterists? Simple. They don’t believe the word of God as He wrote it. They have to symbolize it, allegorize it, etc. Which is a slippery slope, because once you start down that road, you can symbolize EVERYTHING! Including salvation. “why, all you have to do is get water sprinkled on you as a baby!”

If that’s your understanding of salvation, then no wonder you don’t believe in the Rapture – you’re not going up in it. I’d print these pages out, so you know what to expect in a few years. Plus I have an entire website I’m working on to help you survive the Tribulation. You don’t believe in a future Great Tribulation yet.

You will soon enough. Hint – when they ask you to take a mark…three sixes… I highly recommend you say, “no thanks.” Oh, and make sure you get Biblically saved as soon as possible. because that sprinkling on water droplets as a baby… that’s not Biblical, and it’s not salvation. And if that’s your profession of faith… “I got wet as a baby…” you may possibly see a puff of steam from your forehead the first few seconds in Hell. That’s all that will do for you, if you’re still wet from the baby baptism.

Sorry, being sarcastic again. I really repent of that. But I’m hopping my harsh words will be like a cold splash of reality. If you refuse to get saved, you won’t be going to heaven. Bottom line.

13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. Revelation 9:13-21 (KJV)

Another hint. There has never been a cavalry attack numbering 200 million horsemen ever. Yes, i’m aware the Chinese army claims the ability to launch a cavalry attack of that many. Understand that number is their entire army… and I seriously doubt they have a horse for every last one of them. What’ are their paratroopers going to land on US soil on horseback? Yeah, get THAT horse to jump out of a plane. I dare you.

Next, you have to find 200 million horses who breathe fire and sulfur. “Um…” yeah, I saw that problem too. Apparently the Chinese government under Chairman Mao never read the entire passage in the Bible when they had that propaganda.

Oh, and your genetically modified dragon-horses also have tails that are serpent heads… and bite! So if you jump out of the way of the horsemen, you still run the risk of getting bitten.

When was the last time this happened in history? Never. Okay. Again, Preterism is dismissed once and for all as “Not Biblical.” Thanks.

How many people just died in this one?

1,300,000,000 people died at the hands of the diabolical horsemen. Yes, demons.

total left on the earth… 2,670,000,000

We went from six billion people at the Rapture to just over two and a half billion left on the earth. In other words, we’ve lost about 66% of the people on the earth.

1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: 2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, 3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. 5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: 7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. 8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. 9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. 11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. Revelation 10:1-11 (KJV)

What’s the seven thunders say? I have no idea.

1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Revelation 11:1-19 (KJV)

This was the end of the halfway point of the tribulation, the death and resurrection of Moses and Elijah.

So! We come to the last of the seven trumpets. lightnings, voices, thunder, and earthquake, and hail. And almost four and a half billion people have died. If you want steady work in the tribulation, apply for a job at a funeral home. You’ll be VERY busy.

The End Times 9 – The First four Trumpets

Okay, we’ve lost at least a billion and a half people from the world at this point. From Six billion, that brings us to four and a half billion.

1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. 2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. 6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. 7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. 12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. 13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound! Revelation 8:1-13 (KJV)

As I’m going to point out on my Tribulation website, this is the time to remove all vegetation from your hideout. You want to get it away from wherever it is. Because one third of all vegetation on the earth is going to burn up in wildfires. That’s pretty drastic. I don’t know if that means 100% of all vegetation on one third of the earth will be burned up, or if it’s an even 33% across the entire world. I think the second theory is the more accurate.

During this time (if you’re surviving it, you might want to brush up on how to treat burns – because odds are good, many people you run across will have been badly burned) it’s also a good idea to move to areas where there’s not a lot of vegetation, such as on a rocky mountain, or into a desert.

The great mountain burning with fire – a meteor? Nuclear? A volcanic eruption splitting a large volcano on a coastline? I know that on the Canary Islands there is a extinct volcano that is splitting by the eroding effects of dripping rainwater, and that LaPalma island is being watched carefully by geologists and vulcanologists. Should you be worried about LaPalma? If you live on the east coast of the United States, yeah, probably… because if you hear that Lapalma island has split and half of it falling into the sea, you’ve got four hours or so to pack your stuff and head at least a hundred miles inland, considering half of that will be spent driving, I’d hurry. If LaPalma went active and exploded, the falling debris would cause a massive tsunami supposedly 40 to 60 feet high, a massive wall of water that would barrel down across any land mass in its way… But I’m more inclined to a meteor, because it will destroy a third of the oceangoing ships. A Tsunami normally in the ocean just lifts the boats up… and sets them down. Impact tsunamis drag ocean ships for long distances, but doesn’t sink them usually. A Meteor hitting the surface of the ocean would create massive shockwaves, far more destructive than normal tsunamis.

I know Tim Laheye also goes back and forth on this interpretation. Some liken this to a nuclear blast, others the meteor. To quote a scifi author, “hit something with a big enough hammer, you get sparks.” A Meteor or a comet hitting the ocean fast enough is going to create quite a BANG.

supposedly, there are 39,000 ships on the ocean – so that’s roughly 13,000 ships destroyed at this time. If an average of 10 men are on each vessel (much more than that, I’m sure…) then we will see the loss of life from this at 130,000. How many people will die of starvation? Answer – probably millions. Some nations feed as many as one third of its population from the oceans, such as China and Japan. China has 1.4 billion people, Japan 127 million. That could mean the loss of life of 467,000,000 people in China alone, and 42,000,000 in Japan.

That’s roughly half a billion that may die. By the second trumpet, the world population will have dropped to four billion people.

Wormwood is the next catastrophe. Waters become poisoned, and people die of the toxins, and of third. The Bible does not give us numbers, but merely “many men” is our number. I’m going to estimate perhaps another 100 million, because I just don’t have enough to go on to estimate. You tell ME how many people would die if one third of the drinking water in the world was poisoned.

What is wormwood? All I know is the oft-repeated saying that “Chernobyl” means “wormwood”. Is it nuclear radiation? I don’t know. Is this a nuclear attack? I don’t know.

The last judgment we’re going to talk about is the fourth trumpet, darkness. More literally, it means one third of the lgiht will not be visible. Is this some kind of “nuclear winter”? I dunno. The Bible just says one third of the light.

Now that I’ve answered your questions so well, tomorrow something I have answers for – the last three trumpets.

The End Times 7: The First six seals

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. 2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. Revelation 6:1-2 (KJV)

Let’s recap for a second. Revelation deals with things which the Apostle John had seen, the things which are, and the things which are yet to pass.

The letters to the seven churches are the past and present. Revelation 4 begins with the words, “after this…”

So EVERYTHING that happens starting in Revelation 4 is the future. It has not happened yet. And will not happen until the Rapture of the church.

So, who is the White Rider? It cannot be the Lord Jesus Christ, being unleashed at the beginning of the Tribulation, conquering and to conquer. I’ve read that several times, always from people who confuse Israel and the churches.

logicla question – why would Jesus Christ open a seal that… unleashes Jesus Christ? Let’s hear no more about it.

The White Rider is the little horn. The Antichrist.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 (KJV)

This is the Antichrist. The Holy Ghost is what holds him back (2 Thess. 2:7). Until the churches are taken from the earth, he cannot rise. Once he does, he will begin conquering. First by peace, flattery, political intrigue.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. Daniel 7:24-26 (KJV)

23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. Daniel 8:23-25 (KJV)

There will be a league if ten nations, who will help put the Antichrist into power. However, for reasons unexplained, he will strike down three of the nations in warfare. That war will spill over and engulf the world, which is the second seal.

3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. Revelation 6:3-4 (KJV)

I’d give you figures on how many people die here, but Scripture does not say. World War II killed millions. This will be a war as big, as we see from “take peace from the earth” and “great sword”. If you didn’t want to live during World War II – I’d suggest you get saved, because world War III will probably be as bad.

Shortly after the Antichrist comes into power, he will attempt to assume total control and dominion over the world. This will lead to war. War always leads to famine.

5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. Revelation 6:5-6 (KJV)

Why does war lead to famine? Simple. Dead people cannot farm. And your sons and daughters will be taken to be in the war. So they’re not helping you on the farm. And when they die in combat, there’s going to be nobody to help after the war.

Bombs land in your fields, destroying the crop. Enemy vehicles tear up your land as they invade. People hoarde food and supplies, knowing if they don’t, they’ll die. Suvivalism sets in. And people begin starving. and dying.

7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:7-8 (KJV)

Assuming the world population is six billion at the rapture, at this point, over one and a half billion people will die, from disease, famine and war. The world population will drop from 20-whatever levels to 1970 levels. This will make the 10 or so million that died in World War II seem pale by comparison.

I’m going to urge it again. Get saved, before this happens. There’ll be no further raptures. If you miss the first one, that’s it. There’s no “I’ll take the next train.” That was it. You got left behind. And it’s going to get a lot worse. horrific worse.

This is the major problem I have with the Left Behind series, is that the major characters had fancyt computers, lived well, lots of food and water, could fly anywhere in the world and buy whatever they wanted. It sounded like fun! Okay, there’s an earthquake or two, nothing major.

The Tribulation is going to be horrendous. We really need a Fundamentalist version of “Left Behind” that will tell the horrific story as it probably will be in reality.

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. Revelation 6:9-11 (KJV)

I’m not going to downplay this at all. If you’re reading this AFTER the rapture, the this is probably going to include you. I’m working on a website where I tell people how to survive the Tribulation, but I emphasize this – if you ignored all the warnings and got stuck in the Tribulation, odds are good most of you will die at this point. And this passage is talking about you.

The Good news is, God keeps you in His presence. That’s how precious you are to Him.

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:12-17 (KJV)

This is the first Great Earthquake. This will be tremendous, dwarfing all other earthquakes we’ve seen in history. It will result in wholesale destruction, and probably will be a series of worldwide “Earthquake storms”. Scientists used to say it was impossible, until we had our first ones a few years ago. They don’t say that any more. Geologists who find this page should be especially disturbed by this, as you know the instantaneous power available to an earthquake.

Get saved before this happens!

The End Times 6

Okay, I was able to write a couple more! THEN I’ll take a couple days off.

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:1-5 (KJV)

Really, when you think about it, this is the death knell of the Pre-Wrath theory, which is actually (to my knowledge) the most popular eschatological position among Independent Baptists. I guess most of those Pastors only read Marv Rosenthal and haven’t gotten around to reading their Bibles!

Rosenthal’s position is that the seven seals and the seven trumpets are all the wrath of Satan or the Antichrist. I’m not sure how he reconciles this belief with the Bible’s clear teaching that only Jesus Christ is worthy to open the seals. What, the Lord Jesus Christ knows that Satan is come with wrath, but isn’t worthy to open the seals – so He helps Satan out??? It’s not a logical position at all.

6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Revelation 5:6 (KJV)

This is a case of Hebrew emphasis. Things in the Bible are repeated to let you know when to pay attention to something. The Lord Jesus repeats Himself on the Gospel of John for emphasis. There is some figurative language in the Bible. For instance, the Lord calls Himself the door. Is He really a door? No, we understand the language. Is the Lord Jesus Christ now a lamb, wooly and cute, but with horrible deformities??? Not at all. This is showing the number seven, which we understand to mean “Holiness” or “God” in Hebrew thought. Jesus Christ is both.

7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. Revelation 5:7-8 (KJV)

We need to keep this in mind. This is discussing the Lord Jesus Christ. I read quotes from people and I become convinced these people worship a different Jesus other than the Bible, like the quote about a Jesus dressed in fine clothes, smoking a cigar and listening to rock music on a boombox, tapping his foot and saying, “I love this stuff.”

The real Jesus Christ is the creator of the Earth. When we stand before Him in heaven, we’re going to be utterly struck with how Holy He is, and how amazing He is. We’re going to be on our faces before Him a LOT, because we’re going to realize this over and over again, how AMAZING is it that such a powerful and Holy Being loves us, cares for us, boasts about us, and sings over us. Think on that for a few minutes.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. Revelation 5:8-14 (KJV)

This ought to give you a feeling for the intensity of worship we wil experience in Heaven. Now, contrast this with the venom that is poured out on the throne of God by unSaved men – some of whom claim to be Christians. Well, they’ve figured it out by this point that (as the real Christians have been raptured and they’ve been left behind) that they weren’t saved.

Now, let’s dwell on this point for a minute. There are many in this world dwelling in a false expectation that they are saved. The Bible explains what it takes to be saved. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and ye shall be saved.”

We’ve got two extremes of people trying to unsettle everyone – those that teach easy believism (“you don’t have to change your life, you just say the sinner’s prayer and you’re all set…”) and those that teach Lordship Salvation (“You’ve got to repent of every sin in your life, and Jesus Christ must be LORD of your life”).

The first one is vague, because you’re either trusting in a walk or a prayer to save you – and neither one can be found in Scripture. The second one is exceptionally vague, because let’s face it – the realization you are a doomed sinner condemned to Hell, unable to save yourself will drown out all rational thought. Can you recall every sin you committed today? Probably not. So, how are you to confess a litany of a lifetime of sins to a Holy God, and repent of every one of them?

The real gospel is simple. Recognize you are a sinner worthy only of eternal punishment in a literal hell of darkness, unending torment and flames. I reject the modern namby-pamby Gospel which calls Hell “eternal separation from God” – it makes it sound like you’ll be in a time out sitting in the corner forever!

Once you understand your fallen condition, recognize you need a saviour. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save you of your sins. Believe upon Him, and ye will be saved. All it requires is a simple prayer of forgiveness. Repentence is a part of this. What is repentence? Recognizing you cannot save yourself, that you’ve lived a sinful life, and that you need to be saved. In other words, everything I just talked about before!

There are those in the easy believism group that claim there does not need to be fruits of repentence, and that your life does not need to change. This line of thinking doesn’t stand up to the Bible at all. Let me put this in the worst case scenario, because that always helps to show what I’m talking about.

Let’s say you’re a drug dealer. You engage in illegal, immoral activity to make sure you sell your cocaine, up to and including murdering your competition, or your mules who you find ripping you off. you stop by a church, hear the easy believism gospel. moved by the emotional music, you walk the aisle, say a prayer. You go home, feeling euphoric.

The next day in a rage, you shoot one of your thugs to death, and feel justified because he was skimming money from you. Then over the next few days, you plan, and carry out, the biggest cocaine deal you’ve done to date. and hey, it’s okay, because you’re a Christian. Despite the fact you never darken the doorway of a church again?

Is that the actions of a saved person?

Or rather, the drug dealer begins to be bothered by what he’s doing. He realizes its wrong, but struggles with his conscience. It’s money, and he doesn’t know any other way. After a while, he goes back to his pastor, tells him what’s going on, understands that what he’s doing is wrong, and sincerely wants to change. Just to make sure, the Pastor takes the drug dealer through the plan of the Gospel again, getting a more sincre prayer and confession of faith. the Drug dealer feels a need to start doing things he’s never done, like read his Bible. And get baptized.

He struggles with his old nature, losing more battles than winning, but always grimly trying to perservere. “God, I’m struggling! PLEASE help me!”

It takes years, and he’s regretting the loss of all that money. He’s struggling, but going to church – hit and miss, but still trying. He wars constantly with keeping from profane talk and cursing, knows he shouldn’t be watching those things on tV, and endlessly cries out to God.

Is that a saved person?

Sure sounds like it to me! He’s turning to GOD to help him. Did he do that before? He’s reading his Bible. Did he do that before? He’s struggling to control his mouth. did he do that before? He’s trying to get to church. Did he do that before? He gave up the illegal and immoral lifestyle. did he do that before?

Okay, Mr. “I’m so holy”, let’s compare that to your life! What are you struggling with? The Bible says we’ll war with the old nature constantly. Nobody is born again, and just quits everything cold turkey, and is mr. “reads 90 chapters of the Bible a day, has 13 hours of prayer time every day, and is a deacon in the church within 72 hours of being saved”. It takes TIME to become spiritually mature. It takes time for these changes to take effect!

See, the truth lies somewhere in between the easy believism group and the Lordship Salvation group. The Gospel needs to be simple enough that a sinner in their worst moments can comprehend, and respond to. But it’s not so vague that a Columbian drug dealer who hacks people to death with a machete can still claim to be a Christian. We recognize the illogic of that right away, when someone involved in the worst forms of life continues in that, sees NOTHING wrong with that, and yet claims to be saved. We recognize that there’s a conflict there.

If you went to Jack Hyle’s church 20 years ago, did a sinners prayer, and haven’t been back but think you’re a Christian – I’d recommend some serious soul searching.

Are you saved? Are you trusting in a simple prayer to save you, or are you trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ? Get it settled today. Because you’re about to read about the opening of the seven seals, and I guarantee you DO not want to be part of that!!!

The End Times 5

1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:1-11 (KJV)

This is the “things which must be hereafter.” Surprisingly, preterists ignore this verse – well, and many other which don’t fit their preconceived notions. I pretty much guarantee that for many of them, their beliefs will be right. They won’t experience the Rapture, because I believe most preterists deny the Bible to such a great extent, I have to seriously question their salvation.

How do we know that this chapter starts the future verses? What’s the first two words of chapter 4? “After this…” And what does the loud voice proclaim? “I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”

John Macarthur teaches that this verse is not the Rapture. I don’t know when he places the Rapture, but (and here’s the sentence that will infuriate many Macaruthurites…) MacArthur is wrong. Very wrong. This verse IS the Rapture. John is raptured into heaven, is he not? The voice says “come up hither” and a door is opened in heaven. And John is Raptured. He remains in heaven until the Second coming. Wow, just like the Christians!!! Can I dare say this means John is the type of the Christian believer?

John begins describing what he sees in heaven, which is so alien to him, that his words almost leave you confused. “Huh?

Who are the twenty four elders? They are representatives of the new priesthood. The old priesthood was Levitical, under the Law. There were 24 courses of Levitical priests, according to Tim Laheye, and that fits with this. Whether these twenty four were permanently appointed, or whether believers in heaven take turns, we don’t know. I think it’s the latter, but at this time… we just don’t know.

Theres a lot in this chapter, but it shows this, that there are things we do not and cannot at this time understand. We’re going to learn a LOT when we get to heaven, because I just about guarantee there’s something to all the symbols we see in this chapter. And I about guarantee everything is deliberate.

This chapter ties us to the Rapture, so how does the Rapture work? I’m not going to give you scientific principles, because I just about guarantee that if the Lord is not suspending physical laws to make the rapture happen, then it’s something we don’t know about. I’m sure some of the scientists who’ve found Christ and are in heaven have figured out amazing things by now. But nobody on earth will understand it at this time.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)

That’s the “come up hither” part. There’s some debate about – how long between the time we hear the call, the dead rise first, and we who are alive and remain should join them in the air?

My seminary actually suggests that it;s very possible that it’s a period of time, a few minutes, maybe as much as a couple hours! After all, they point out, why a 1/100 second delay between the dead in Christ rising, and then we who are alive? That’s such a fantastically small amount of time, it’s almost meaningless.

I can’t argue with their logic. We may have just enough time to bang on someone’s door, hand them a letter and a Bible and a quick, “don’t have time, I’m about to be caught up into heaven, this is your LAST CHANCE to get saved before the Rapture!!!” Swoooop!!!!

Or they might be wrong, and it’s a .oo1 second interval between them. Any way you slice it, you should have letters written, and survival guides printed out. And maybe all this prepping madness that Christians are doing is a divine command… but not for us. For those that will get saved immediately after the Rapture, and will be scrounging as quickly as possible to gather weapons, food, water. and survival items.

Be ready. It might not help you, but it could be the difference between death and life for someone else.

The End Times 4

To understand what’s going on in Revelation, we first have to examine what happened to get us there.

1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. 2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. 6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. 7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. Daniel 7:1-8 (KJV)

This is one of the first grand visions of the coming times. This concerned the coming kingdoms that would rule the earth, or at least most of the known world that Daniel knew of.

The first beast is Babylon, the kingdom Daniel is currently a hostage in. This is the Griffon, the lion with Eagle’s wings. The second beast is a bear, the Medo-Persian empire. This is the empire that defeated Assyria and Babylon, assuming the might of the Babylonians into its own ranks – hence the three ribs in its mouth.

The Leopard with four heads represents the Greeks (more specifically, Alexander the Great and his army from Macedonia, which took over all of Greece – and then eyed the rest of the world, which it proceeded to conquer, reaching as far as India and Babylon). The four heads represent his four generals who attempted to fight one another to control Alexander’s Empire. While the Empire fragmented, Cassius, Ptolemy, Seleuces and Lysimachus fought one another…

…only to be met and utterly defeated by the most brutal and violent armies, the Romans, pictured as a monstrous beast with ten heads.

These are the four great kingdoms of the world.

What happened to Rome?

Believe it or not, nothing. Rome simply lost its focus, and the empire was transformed into a religious system. Rome is still there. It’s worth noting that most of the governments of the world still utilyze the Roman formulas, with a Senate or a Parliment, which roughly focus the same.

When the Parliment or Senate becomes dominated by its leader, president or king, that person becomes a Caesar of that country. None yet since about 450 AD have assumed the role of an August, a Caesar who rules large territories. Does Great Britain really have a Caesar? not in many years. Does America?

I’ll let you answer that question.

Anyway, i’m sure all the Roman history buffs will disagree with me on the above, but hey… you tell me… what happened to the Roman Empire? It just seemed to deflate, like a souffle’ taken too soon from an oven.

Rome experienced a change when Caesar Constantine became the Papal Nuncio, the head of not only the empire, but the Catholic church as well. He was worshipped and put into that position by the groveling church leaders, who were already corrupt and abusing their positions, by assuming control over terrirtories of churches, something not instructed in the Bible.

This basically was a transfer of power from the secular government to the religious government. Constantine himself assumed control of both. Thus, whoever took over the seat of the Roman Catholic Church assumed Constantine’s throne.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Daniel 7:23-25 (KJV)

The Roman empire is different because the other governments and armies were only military and secular governments – but the Roman government because a religious system, moving its fingers not only into the daily life of its people but even more invasively into the religious life.

The Bible speaks of the little horn, whom most of the interpreters agree can only be one person – the Antichrist.

Daniels first vision shows him the first real glimpse we have of the most evil man in all of history. And no, he’s not going to look like Sam Neal and be protected by a host of ravens that seem to be accompanied by an unseen choir chanting in Latin.

Well, I don’t know that for sure, but I highly doubt that.

Notice in Daniels vision, time seems to be compressed. He sees the fourth kingdom, and the Antichrist almost seems to be the fourth Caesar, from the way he sees it. This is known as time compression, and the most common way to describe it is to speak of mountains. You look at a range of mountains, and the peaks seem right behind each other. yet in reality, there often is valleys in between those mountains, and peaks which look right behind each other actually could be miles apart. Daniel saw his visions roughly 4 centuries before Christ, so to look at today would be like looking forward 2,400 years or so. It’s similar to when we look backwards in time through the Bible, and there seems to be only a short time between Jospeh going into captivity and his reuniting with his family – in reality, it was 20 years. Time compression.

Or between Adam and Noah. Yet in reality, we’re talking centuries. We assume from 7 chapters of Genesis that it was just a few years. And that’s when we have dates and times given to us!

no dates or times were given to Daniel in the first vision.

1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first. 2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai. 3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last. 4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. 5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. 8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. 11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. 13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? 14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. Daniel 8:1-14 (KJV)

This is Daniel’s second vision, given two years later. It confirms the first vision, but gives more detail, including the directions of the kingdoms and the military battles. Again giving information, it describes how the Antichrist will cause the offerings in the Temple to cease.

Lesson in Bible interpretation: If the Antichrist has to make the offerings in the Temple cease, what does this require?

Answer: A Temple in Jerusalem, and the resuming of the daily offerings.

Do we have those right now? No. So what does that mean? The Temple, which is in construction right now (as a “training mockup” – good way to hide it in plain site) Will sometime soon be completed, and moved to the Temple Mount. And the sacrifices have to be resumed. That’s what the Bible teaches.

From the time the Antichrist gets involved with the temple until the cleansing of the Temple is… 6.3 years. The actual stopping of the offerings is thought to be at the midpoint of the Tribulation.

14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. Daniel 10:14 (KJV)

This verse refutes those who naively think that Daniel is referring to the wars that happened in their own time. this specifies “in the latter days…” in other words, the time before the end of the world. And… we are almost in that time.

1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. 5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? 7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. 11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Daniel 12:1-13 (KJV)

And from this we come to understand that the Great Tribulation shall be seven years, divided into two parts of 3 1/2 years each.

i’m not minimizing this – I’m just saying this: The Great Tribulation is close. VERY close. Scary close. There are probably Angels right now sweeping the floors of the many mansions spoken of in the book of John, getting the rooms ready, changing the linen, getting the little thin Andes’ mints to place on our pillows.

Okay, I don’t know if all that is literal or not, but hey… it’s going to be GREAT. None of us will be sorry we got Raptured.

And I want the magnitude of this to truly sink into you. BILLIONS of people are going to suffer and die. Between the second and third vials, EVERY LIVING THING in the streams, lakes, waters and oceans are going to DIE. Millions of human beings will die of thirst. Millions will die in famine. BILLIONS will die from war, from divine plagues, and from demonic attack. By the first vial judgment, over half of the population of the earth will be killed. If it’s six billion people alive after the Rapture, then three billion will die from wart and from the 200 million horsemen ALONE.

Think about that.
