Jehovah’s Witnesses Answered 31

We’ve established:

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians, as two of the cardinal doctrines of Christianity include the Godhood of Jesus Christ and the Trinity.
  • The translators of the New World Translation were not “experienced, anointed Christians” as the Watchtower Society claims – but rather untrained, inexperienced Jehovah’s Witnesses
  • It would take doctorate degrees in Greek and Hebrew to be qualified to translate the Bible
  • According to Ray Franz, only one of the Translators knew any Greek, and no Hebrew
  • There is no good reason to withhold the list of the translators of the NWT, and suggest the Watchtower Society has something to hide by concealing the names of the translators.
  • Fred Franz, who served on the translating committee of the NWT, was incapable of recognizing a single Hebrew word in court, or even a single Hebrew letter – after claiming under oath he knew both Koine Greek and Hebrew.
  • The JW’s rely on the United Bible Society text and Kittel’s BHS Hebrew – for what, I don’t know, since their translators don’t know any Hebrew or Greek
  • The oldest Greek texts are actually the Textus Receptus, not the Wescott-Hort The majority of the oldest forms of the manuscripts are actually Textus Receptus
  • The earliest of church fathers, living in the time of the apostles until AD 130 all quoted from the Textus Receptus.
  • If Vaticanus or Sinaiticus were truly the original Greek, then they wouldn’t quote words or verses that those manuscripts leave out
  • The NWT has major inconsistencies compared with the Textus Receptus
  • The NWT revealed its bias against the Godhood of the Lord Jesus Christ by forgetting to twist a verse that shows the Lord Jesus Christ willingly received worship, and that some worship Him in vain (Matt. 15:9)
  • The usage of “Sheol” in the Old Testament in context means “The abode of the dead”
  • Sheol contained both Abraham’s Bosom (Paradise) and Hell, with a great gulf fixed between
  • Both the Old and New Testament say that Hell is a place of fire, perpetual torment and burning
  • a Grave is cool, and does not torment or burn.
  • Luke 16 is a record of fact, and not a parable
  • names are never mentioned in parables, but Luke 16 names Abraham and Lazarus
  • The rich man in Luke 16 is not named because obviously we don’t need to know who it is.
  • Almost every verse in the Bible on Hell is speaking of a literal place of torment and suffering.
  • The Lord Jesus Christ is not an Angel
  • Angels Are Created beings, hence the terms “sons of God”
  • Jesus Christ is eternally God, therefore not a created being, therefore cannot be an Angel.
  • The term “Son of God” refers to the relationship between God the Father and God the Son.
  • Angels do not permit human beings to worship them – only Fallen angels encourage this.
  • The Lord Jesus Christ obviously is not an Angel as He permitted people to worship Him.
  • The Lord Jesus Christ stated many times that He was the only way to salvation
  • There is no such thing as a small g god in the Bible – only God.
  • The Lord Jesus Christ has always existed as God the Son
  • Unless you accept and confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, you will be condemned to hellfire and eternal suffering forever.
  • Salvation By Grace is available to all, according to the Bible
  • The Trinity is a Biblical doctrine
  • There is no proof the “144,000” were physically descended from Israel
  • the British Israelite theory does not account for descent from individual tribes such as Gad, Asher, Benjamin, Issachar, etc.
  • The 144,000 must come after the 5th seal. The 144,000 of the Jehovah’s Witnesses come almost a century before the Tribulation.
  • It has been more than seven years after member #144,000 joined the Watchtower Society.
  • The tribulation must end 7 years after it begins.
  • The Temple in Jerusalem has not been rebuilt
  • There’s nothing in the Bible about only the 144,000 are saved by grace or may partake of the Lord’s Supper
  • The 144,000 must all be male
  • The 144,000 must all be virgins. We have no information that the 144,000 Jehovah’s witnesses are all virgins.
  • Elijah and Moses must appear in the Tribulation at the same time as the 144,000. Moses and Elijah apparently are quite delayed, as it’s 99 years later and they’ve never shown up.
  • Soul Sleep is not Biblical
  • The Bible makes a distinction between the soul and the body in death
  • We must read all verses on a doctrine to get the correct understanding of the doctrine
  • The Bible portrays the souls of the dead aware, speaking, praising God, and the souls of the unsaved pleading, weeping, begging, in torment
  • Charles Taze Russell adopted the unBiblical doctrine of Soul Sleep from Seventh Day Adventists, and from the teachings of Ellen G. White
  • The return of the Lord will be visible. Every eye will see Him return in power.
  • The Bible does not speak of an investigative judgment. The concept is an unBiblical doctrine.
  • God’s Chosen organization is the local church, not the Watchtower Society
  • There is nothing in the Bible referring to a select few within a multi-church organization running that organization
  • There is nothing in the Bible about the writing of any future book that will equal the Bible.
  • The book Jesus Christ supposedly found so perfect that he chose the Watchtower Society because of it, is the Finished Mystery, by Charles Taze Russell – which Jehovah’s Witnesses are not permitted to own or read.
  • The Finished Mystery is an embarrassment to the Watchtower society, as it is so fanciful and ridiculous that any Witness that reads it will realize they’ve been lied to and are in a cult.
  • The Watchtower Society will not permit you to celebrate Christmas and your birthday, because you’ll end up spending money that could go to them. Stop paying your tithe to them and see what happens.
  • The Watchtower Society will not allow you to have back issues of their magazines, tracts, and publications because it will reduce their control over you. Prove me wrong, ask them for copies of all of their back issues of magazines, books and tracts
  • You are saved by grace, and not of works, lest any should boast
  • Salvation is available to all, not just the 144,000
  • We are not saved by works, but by grace
  • Anyone who teaches you that you are saved by any other Gospel is under a curse
  • The Watchtower Society teaches the very opposite of the Bible
  • If you do not get saved by being born again, you cannot enter the kingdom of God, and will die in your sins, and will spend eternity in the very Hell whose existence I’ve demonstrated.
  • We are justified not by works, but by faith
  • The spirit of the Antichrist teaches the opposite of the Gospel, just like the Watchtower Society
  • The spirit of the Antichrist denies the Godhood of Jesus Christ, just like the Watchtower Society
  • Cults try to strip you of your identity to maintain control of you – as does the Watchtower Society
  • The Sheep are the Jews, and the other sheep are Gentiles. Once in the local church, they then are one group, the body.
  • There is no “two classes of believers” other sheep and anointed – all of the sheep are anointed, or they are not saved.
  • There’s no scriptural support for two classes of believers, the other sheep and the anointed – but rather one class, both anointed and sheep.
  • Paradise Earth is not in the Bible
  • The Great Multitude, according to the Bible, is in heaven, not earth.
  • Paradise is not on earth, but according to the Bible, is in heaven.
  • Pastor Russell was never ordained.
  • The Finished Mystery book three times invalidated itself as the book that allowed the Lord to choose the Watchtower Society as the “Faithful slave”.
  • The Finished Mystery says the faithful slave was not the society, but Charles Taze Russell.
  • dates and events in the Finished Mystery do not line up with actual historical events.
  • The Finished Mystery contradicts established Jehovah witness doctrine.

At last, drawing to a close on the Watchtower Society. I may return to this subject in the future, but I think I’ve systematically answered just about all the major issues with this cult.

And you know it’s the truth if you’ve been following all of these posts. You’ve always had doubts about what the Watchtower Society, and I’m sure that if you’re honest with yourself, I’ve demolished all of their claims.

Except one, and a challenge that a Witness Apologist aimed at me in a confrontational and very aggressive fashion. So, I’m going to answer those here, and then sum up the arguments, and I’ll be done with this issue and ready to move on.

Ready?

The Watchtower Society claims there is no biblical evidence for a bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is one of those arguments they tend to bring up in-house only. Why?

To be honest, it’s the weakest and most embarrassing doctrine they have, besides the blood issue.

There’s more proof for the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ than for the existence of Hammurabi or the Greek poet Homer.

I like to point at the Garden Tomb, also known as Gordon’s Calvary. It’s just outside Jerusalem, it has the most likely spot for the crucifixion right above it. And… it’s empty.

Tombs don’t stay empty in Jerusalem very long. Real Estate there is kind of at a premium, which is one reason why there’s so much bickering about it over there. I’m not going to get into all the other varied reasons here, just suffice it my point is made.

Tell me, why if Jesus Christ did not physically rise from the dead, why that tomb was not used by an entire family over the years? I can think of only one reason why nobody was placed in that tomb.

Because they put someone in it, and they didn’t stay dead.

“Don’t use that tomb, you remember what happened last time!”

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Luke 16:19-31 (KJV)

We’ve mentioned the events of Lazarus before. It’s not a parable, as I’ve proved earlier. And the points of the story are this: There is a hell, a paradise, and… most men will not believe the Gospel, even if one rises from the dead.

Now, if the Lord did not physically rise from the dead, then this passage makes no sense. Because a ghost is… still dead. Saying the Lord only raised spiritually, and not physically is denying the Resurrection. If I meet the Ghost of Abraham Lincoln, he didn’t raise from the dead – he’s STILL DEAD. He’s a ghost. Most of us define a ghost as “someone still dead.”

You can’t say Jesus was a ghost, and then say He rose from the dead “spiritually”.

That point made, the Gospels mention a resurrection, seen by many. As many as 500 saw the Lord in a risen state. To prove He was physically risen, He invited them to touch Him, and ate with them.

36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43 And he took it, and did eat before them. Luke 24:36-43 (KJV)

There you go. The Bible says He physically rose from the dead. It also says He ascended bodily into Heaven.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:6-11 (KJV)

If He was a ghost, as the Watchtower Society claims, then He would have just… vanished.

It’s a weak argument, and utterly without any merit to claim no physical resurrection. If the Lord was the earnest of our resurrection, then wouldn’t it also stand to reason we also would not physically resurrect. But you’ve already seen, the Watchtower Society has downplayed the Lord Jesus Christ at every opportunity, another reason why I say that they are not Christianity, as Christianity is based upon the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have to assume a phrase for Witnesses, then call them “Michaelites” or “Mikianity”.

Next argument.

The blood.

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. Matthew 12:10-13 (KJV)

23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:23-24 (KJV)

The principle here is, life is more important than mere religious practice. That’s what the Lord was teaching in these verses. If a Witness needs a transfusion, and the Watchtower Society prevents it… then they will have to account for that before the Lord. It’s already quite a lengthy list of things they have to account for, I’m sure on that day all the members of the Governing Body will be regretting a great deal.

Last issue.

“You are scared to post the truth. Answer the question. Who gave Jesus all authority in Heaven? Matthew 28:18 Himself? ROFL”

By your own words…

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)

Here’s your answer.

23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? 24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things. 25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him? 26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet. 27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things. Matthew 21:23-27 (KJV)

For the enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ, this is His answer. For those who honestly want to know,

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. John 5:25-27 (KJV)

Really. A quick check of the Bible (a real one) would have revealed the answer.

That’s the method used by Witness apologists – question dropping. They try to throw out questions (to attempt to raise doubts) without answering them.

I draw your attention at long last to my last point. Why did I invest this much work? To bash the Society? out of hatred for anyone? No, I did this because I don’t want you to suffer in the Hell you vainly try to deny. And at night, on your bed, the terror of Hell momentarily grips you, before you can dismiss it. You know Hell is real. You know its the truth. And you know that unless you repent and get saved, it’s your destination.

What is the judgment on?

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. John 8:24 (KJV)

Witnesses deny that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. They may say “a god”, but the Bible doesn’t make that distinction.

Anyone that denies the deity of Christ will not enter into heaven. And I’ve already proved there is no “paradise earth”. Anyone not going into heaven is going into Hell. Forever.

This is the moment. You know I’m telling you the truth. Repent. pray to the Lord and acknowledge you are a sinner, deserving nothing but punishment in Hell forever for your sins. Ask Him to forgive your sins, and take them away. Do this in your own words. Ask the Lord to save your soul.

Take as long as you need! It’s the most important prayer you’ll ever make.

After that, what next? Find a good Bible believing church. Here’s what I want you to do, even though it sounds counter productive. Let the pastor know you’re a former witness, and ask for help.

Then don’t go to the sunday night service. Don’t go to the wednesday night service. Just go Sunday mornings for a while, until you’re healed. Why? The Society has you enslaved, and you’re required to do this and that and this study and that class and weekly doorknocking and…

Take some time off and heal. Just go to church once a week until that healing is done. Then slowly you can build back up by going to the Wednesday night prayer service. Then the Sunday night. And finally, Sunday School.

The one thing I aask you to do (and this is the most important) is learn to read the Bible by yourself. Read it through all the way once. I’d really cram it in, seven or eight chapters a day. Force yourself to read. Get that word in you. Then get a notebook or the Wordsearch Basic bible program (it’s free) and begin STUDYING. Take lots of notes in the Bible Notes window. Check back on this blog, because I’m going to be shortly working on some posts on how to study your Bible.

Be free.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36 (KJV)

Apostasy reigns around us, churches are sliding into worldiness, a whitewashed Gospel is preached everywhere... "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV) So, I'm speaking out. ...Why aren't you???

  1. Jesus’ bodily resurrection is to me the easiest way to show a JW that they are in a cult. Most JW’s don’t even want to talk about the resurrection and try their best to change the subject when it’s brought up. I totally agree, they ask a lot of questions to raise doubts. Last year I stood outside the Kingdom Hall passing out booklets and tracts to JW’s and people passing by. Some JW’s took them others took the tract realized it was not from the watchtower then ran back and handed it back to me. Then I also had JW’s shouting at me and telling me to “go away” but I didn’t move because I wasn’t on their premises. I had 10 JWs throwing questions at me and they were pretty much questions that I have heard before but they were not interested in my answers they were trying to ask until I came across a question I could not answer.

I really like your blog and learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work.
