Jehovah’s Witnesses Answered 28 – The Finished Mystery 5

Two posts left on the Finished Mystery. If you’ve been reading along, it’s overwhelmingly obvious that I’ll never make it through the book – there are WAY too many things wrong with it.

Two days ago you read a quote from pg. 84 that completely invalidates the claim of the Watchtower Society to being God’s Chosen Organization, based upon the Finished Mystery, which itself makes the claim that the judgment was completed on 1878 – 49 years before the Finished Mystery was published. So, one of them is lying. And no matter who is lying, the claim is now invalid.

Yesterday you read how Leviathan was a steam locomotive. It was never defined if it was a 4-4-0 American, a 4-8-4 Northern, or even a 4-8-8-4 “Big Boy”. Russell just identified it as a steam locomotive.

I should point out that Diesel locomotives, although smaller, have more power. Compare the pulling power of a GP38 to a 4-8-8-4 “Big Boy”. Five GP38’s can drag a mile long consist of freight, weighing in the hundreds of thousands of pounds. So, is the Diesel Behemoth? No. Behemoth means “Beast.” It must be a living thing. So too, if you pause to read Job 40-41 is Leviathan. Not a locomotive. That’s just… silly.

Was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.— The number of the Great Company will apparently exceed one hundred millions. Num. 4:46-48 and Ex. 28:1 indicate but one priest to each 2,860 Levites, which would make the number of the Great Company approximate 411,840,000.— T118, 119; Dan. 7:10. 5:12

This is almost as silly as Leviathan. We don’t know the number of the great multitude. we’ll see it and be astounded in Heaven. But we won’t be able to look back at Exodus 28:1 and grab a calculator and say, “Huh! I know the number!!!” Suffice it to say it’s a LOT of people!

If this were earth, parking for this event would be stressful and annoying, and many would turn around and go home. “We’ll watch it on TV, kids. Too hot, no parking, and not enough bathrooms.” So Paradise Earth (which we’ve already dealt with) is given another blow here – at this point kicking a dead horse, because we demolished the Paradise Earth theory over a week ago.

Which is in Heaven.— “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” (Heb. 1:6.) “Worship Him, all ye gods.”— Psa. 97:7.

Who, what, when where….

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Hebrews 1:1-14 (KJV)

Interesting that Russell here quotes a verse in the midst of a chapter that refutes EVERYTHING he teaches about the Lord Jesus Christ.

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods. Psalm 97:7 (KJV)

Hm. Interesting. Russell quotes half the verse out of context. I don’t know why, as Russell normally takes a strong view against idolatry, and Psalm 97:7 is a strong condemnation of graven images, commanding them to bow and worship the true God. It is written of the Lord Jesus Christ that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

And behold a white horse.— The doctrines, teachings of the Lord and the Apostles recognized as the one and only rule of faith and practice of God’s Church.

And he that sat on him.— The Bishop of Rome, the embryo Pope, the personal representative of Satan.

Um. well, sorta. The white horse holding a bow without arrows, conquering and to conquer, is the Antichrist. The Pope is an antichrist – but then, so also is Charles Taze Russell, as he denies the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the deity of Christ as well. So, I could easily say that “he that sat on him” is Joseph Rutherford, and the white horse as Charles Taze Russell – but that would be eisogesis, and not exegesis.

The horse is that which brings the Antichrist to power. He that sat on him is THE antichrist. (Cue the chantings in Latin, please.) To say that the white horse is the doctrines of the church is utterly ridiculous.

I have to ask, is Russell making this stuff up as he goes along? Again, supposedly the Lord Jesus Christ read this book and all the gross errors in it and chose the Watchtower Society as His chosen organization?

I’m not buying it. At all.

Had a bow.— “They bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant’ for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not Me, saith the Lord.”— Jer. 9:3.

And a crown.— Great honor and authority in the Church.

Sorry, trying not to show disdain or exasperation here, but… Noooo!!! Not even CLOSE! The bow without arrows shows that the Antichrist will conquer by means of peace, false treaties which he breaks rapidly. The crown is not ‘authority given by the church’, but political power. The Antichrist will attempt to be the first world ruler. He’ll get close, but never succeed. I’m sure he’ll surpass Alexander the Great’s territory.

And he went forth conquering, [and to conquer] AND HE CONQUERED.— Thus we see the apparent defeat of Infinite Justice in this first epoch. Apparently, God forsook His Church, having jeopardized all its interests by placing the power in the hands of a self-seeking ecclesiastical system. But worse things are coming!

again… NO! Not even close! You don’t even get an “attaboy” this time! this verse is speaking of the Antichrist conquering the world by peace and treaty… and lies. Again, eventually he breaks this peace in the attempt to conquer the world. It has nothing to do with Ecumenism, a corrupt ecclesial system, or anything to do with the churches!

Wow… a book that supposedly the Lord deemed so correct – and it can’t even get simple things like who Leviathan is and who THE Antichrist is right! I’m wondering which “Lord” it was that read the Finished Mystery and deemed it doctrinally pure! Someone who loves lies and error, and twisting Scriptures to suit his needs, I’m guessing. See Genesis 3, 1 Chronicles 21:1, Job 1, Psalm 109:6, Zechariah 3:1-2, Matthew 4:1-11, John 8:44, etc.

That may sound harsh, but if the Watchtower Society is going to stick by their story that some Angel who calls himself lord read their book and claimed it doctrinally pure (when it contains error after error, lies and misapplications of Scripture) – I can only come to that conclusion. Now, if they’d like to back off that claim, I’ll retract these words and make a public correction of what I wrote here. Just come out here and say that Russell had no clue and was making it up as he went along, and i’ll print a retraction.

Come out of the Watchtower Society. Do it now, while there’s still time.

Seminary graduate with a Ba. in Theology/Pastoral Studies, Happily married, Independent Baptist. I can't keep silent about what I see going on in Christianity any longer! Apostasy reigns around us, churches are sliding into worldiness, a whitewashed Gospel is preached everywhere... "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV) So, I'm speaking out. ...Why aren't you???
