What is correct doctrine on the Bible?
I’ve quoted from people who have issues in this area and denounced them as heretics and probably unSaved, So – what is correct?
The Bible is word for word, letter for letter inspired
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:2 (KJV)
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18 (KJV)
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Mark 13:31 (KJV)
The Bible tells it correctly- it is inspired and inerrant
28 And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 2 Samuel 7:28 (KJV)
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:5 (KJV)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:20-21 (KJV)
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (KJV)
The Bible is Preserved
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7 (KJV)
We have to establish faith in the Bible first of all. There are some things here that some famous names today – this is how we know we are in the age of Apostasy. When the famous men we consider Godly hold to incorrect beliefs about the Bible, we’re in trouble.
We cannot have negotiation on doctrine. That is something I can’t stress enough! This is “God says, you believe!”
Do you think you’re going to be allowed to believe what you like when you get to heaven? Or when we come back to Earth for the Millennium kingdom, or the Eternal State? No, rather, you’re going to be gently reproved (hopefully, gently!) at the Believers’ Judgment.
We truly need to re-think our American Salad Bar approach to Christianity. We can’t say, “Well, i’ll take a Salvation by Grace, but I don’t really accept the Blessed Assurance, doesn’t seem right to me.”
We need to open the Bible, and say, “huh! Okay, I was wrong.” compare Scriptural with Scriptural, as the Bible says.
Heresy in the area of the Bible:
“The Bible is inspired in the original manuscripts.” In other words, I don’t believe in the inspiration and preservation of the Bible. This is the most common view and heresy. If the original Greek and Hebrew is inspired, the translation should be as well.
“God performed a second, additional inspiration in 1611.” This is a fanciful heresy, known as Ruckmanism. No, there was one inspiration of the Bible, a permanant one. If the original is inspired, so is the translation. No second inspiration was needed. And Advanced Revelation is also a heresy, the claim that the translators of the King James were given additional inspiration that they placed in the italics of the King James Bible. There was only one inspirartion.
“It was once thought that the Bible was word for word inspired, but we no longer believe that.” In other words, you’re an apostate. See the above for proof of letter for letter inspiration.
