I think sometimes the hardest thing about being an Independent Baptist in a Southern Baptist church is not the use of CCM music, its not the lack of teaching on Biblical Separation, its hearing the Liberals in the Southern Baptist Convention whine.
Apparently, according to a Southern Baptist Convention website, the SBC has experienced an upturn of Conservatives in the Convention. This moves it back to such radical positions as believing that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, and other “heretical” ideas, like “there is salvation in no other name but Jesus Christ “(John 14:6). And apparently the liberal Christians within the Convention are whining about it.
Wow. Who’d have thought we’d find such dangerous people in churches that want to believe the Bible literally. Why, we need a special name for people like that!!!
Um… We do, it’s called “Christians”.
Well, there should be a special term to describe Christians like that!
Yes, there is – it’s called “Saved people.” I’m contrasting that with people who don’t take the Bible literally. We call those “unsaved” people, and we usually witness to them and give them tracts. This way, they can get saved, and go to heaven and not hell when they die.
Am I saying that Southern Baptist Pastors who don’t literally believe the Bible are going to Hell?
With all due respects to Pastors, I’ll put it this way – I’m not seeing anything different in your view of God, Jesus, or the Bible to differentiate between you and unsaved people. So, my answer would be – yes. Unless you repent (Matt. 4:17, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3 & 5, Acts 2:38, 17:30, 26:30) and are born again (John 3:3, John 3:5), you will not enter the Kingdom of God, and are doomed to eternity in Hell (John 3:3, 3:5, 3:18, 14:6).
